This hotel is in a great location for shopping or for Le Shuttle (6 minutes away). On arrival the reception area was busy with the Champions League final on TV. The Receptionist was working the bar and reception. She was very welcoming. The room was very clean and nicely equipped. Unfortunately the air con was not working but the lovely lady on reception brought us 2 large fans which worked perfectly. Breakfast was good, very nice scrambled egg. Overall a great stay and we will definitely be back.
Excellent hotel! 10 minutes drive from Eurotunnel terminal, walking distance to a fantastic shopping centre with lots of eating options. Clean and spacious family room, friendly and helpful staff in the evening and the morning. ||Special mention to Cedric who went to check our room after we'd departed to see if I'd left my earrings behind (I'd packed them too safe). I received a quick response to my concerned email query before I found them.||We would not hesitate to book this hotel again when travelling on the Eurotunnel. Merci beaucoup!
Very convenient for Le Shuttle. Very happy with the parking, and with the abundance of police vans we felt fine leaving our bikes on our car for the night. Very friendly and helpful man on the front desk when we arrived (late at night), spoke perfect English which was helpful for us. Only real gripe was that there was no aircon in our room and during the recent heatwave our room felt suffocatingly hot (5th/top floor). We were given a fan but that didn’t do much. Beds were fine, shower good. Breakfast was a very basic buffet, but for the price, probably as expected. Fast EV charging right next door, 8 mins to Le Shuttle check in.
Great convenient location and very helpful staff, with the place kept spotlessly clean throughout. Only potential downside is the place was rather warm which made sleep difficult, but imagine it’s the usual case of air con set to winter heating until May so needed the window open overnight. That’s the only downside though!
We stayed here for 1 night before returning to England. We last stayed here maybe 10 years ago when it was a Suite Novotel, and the rooms haven't changed that much which isn't to say that they are in any way shabby. Everything has stood the test of time pretty well.|Room was very spacious and clean, with microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee machine in the room. Beds comfy. Good hot shower with decent water pressure. Good selection of food for breakfast.|This is a very safe hotel as it's also used for the CRS (French mobile reserve police). The car park is full of police vehicles to the left (don't try to park there!) but there are plenty of spaces available in the rest of the car park.|Location is walking distance to Cite Europe shopping centre - I would recommend Flunch for dining. Quality food with unlimited chips / potatoes / vegetables. Few tourists, mainly French customers.
Firstly our apprehension of stopping at Calais on our way home, we have used the tunnel and ferries from Calais for many years and seen a lot of scary things over time with regards to people trying to cross the channel, this has clearly hurt a town over the years which is a shame. After a 9 hour drive from the south of France we would normally get through the tunnel then stay in Folkestone (however the hotels there have progressively got worse so we thought let's stay in a B&B in Calais then cross very early on Sunday morning. Their are 3 B&B's together (a 2*, 3* & 4*) they share the car park which they state as "secure" now it wasn't locked however the 50 police vehicles based in the car park put our minds at ease that the risk of issues was extremely low. On entry we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who checked us in very efficiently and politely explaining everything we needed to know. We had booked a superior double via the B&Me app so it was about £80 for the night, we were blown away by the room for the price, we were on the 5th floor (of 5) so road noise wasn't an issue, the room really did have more than we could think of, a mini fridge (with water) a microwave, kettle, coffee pod machine, walk-in shower, huge bath, separate toilet (even had its own basin) a huge TV and a shock compared to UK rooms you could actually open the windows properly not have "safety" features so you can only open it 2 inches wide. The bed and pillows were really comfortable (with USB-A) charging points on either side. As we were leaving at 04.30 we didn't get to try the breakfast. Would we stop again, yes without hesitation, we are booked to return again in September
We travel to the alps from Manchester 5 times a year. The hotel is perfect for us. Large rooms. Kitchenette to make our coffee flask and fridge for our travel food. Clean. Comfy bed. Hot, powerful shower. Dog friendly. Huge TV that you can use a fire stick in and pull right in front of the bed. Always a warm, polite welcome by staff.
Honestly, this place was a great find and far exceeded our expectations. We've always had pretty good experiences with the B&B chain but this was exceptional. Aside from a bit confusion over which hotel we had booked and where we are going (they have 2, 3 & 4 star hotels located right next to each other which is a bit odd), it was a great layover spot. The location was convenient with a secure car park close to the Eurotunnel.||We arrived at about 7pm on a Sunday and the greeting from the reception staff was lovely - welcoming, friendly but efficient (I didn't catch her name but the receptionist was British-born but had lived in France for a very long time)! The room was fairly basic in design but well equipped and spotlessly clean with very comfy mattress/pillows. They had already put up the cot requested for our baby (which most hotels seem to forget).|We needed food and it was late on a Sunday so nipped into the restaurant at the B&B 3*. The setup was utilitarian but the staff were lovely, the food (and wine) was good and the price was very reasonable (which was a pleasant relief after a week in the Alps!).||The shower was also amazing - the only niggle was the shower-head didn't fit the holder tightly enough so sprayed water at an off-angle which meant it flooded the wet room! All in all though, it was a great stop and we have already recommended it to friends. I'm sure we will be back.
