BASTIDE CHRISTOPHE

This beautiful peaceful Bastide is divided into charming rustic & modern mix individual apartments with views down the valley. Each apartment is self catered and the pool and gardens shared but each has its own outdoor seated area too. The beds and furnishings are comfortable too. Town is a walk away or a short drive. Air conditioning & wi-fi mean that you can relax or work as required in comfort. I could escape here for the winter or spend weeks in the summer between my apartment & the pool. Millie & Art are wonderful hosts ( owners) who will greet you but leave you in peace for your stay unless you need something. Great value location & we will be back.

We stayed for 2 nights at La Bastide’s top studio and by the end of it we really didn’t want to leave. The studio has all you could ever need and the location is also perfect as a base to explore all the quaint villages in this region. On top of that, Milly is an excellent, easygoing and attentive host. We very much appreciated the bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Truly a great BnB experience!

We spent the month of January in southeast France and based ourselves in this very lovely gîte in Bar Sur Loup, it is spacious and light and filled with everything we needed to set up home. The owners keep a VERY clean and tidy property with comfortable furnishings and modern appliances in a lush garden setting. The location is perfect for exploring the many treasures in villages large and small, and we had no trouble finding groceries, boulangeries, and wine shops for needed sustenance! From mountains to coastlines to river gorges we loved setting out each day to discover a new site, especially knowing we would be coming home to the comforts of Bastide St Christophe each night.

My second long winter stay here, which speaks for itself! Milly and Art are charming and professional hosts. I can't imagine how they could do a better job. Both apartments I stayed in have been spacious and quiet with smart, modern bathrooms, and glorious living rooms overlooking the valley. Bedrooms and kitchens vary, but all rooms worked well. It has been a pleasure to spend time in the apartments: during the day - enjoying the views, bird life in the olive trees, and sometimes sitting on the balcony in February; and in the evenings - feeling warm and cosy. What I also love is hiking up into the local hills, and shopping and eating in the friendly village.

My family and I (me, husband and two kids aged 12 and 9) really enjoyed staying at La Bastide Saint Christophe for a fortnight in July. The apartment was a very good size, very clean and very well equipped. The view from the balcony was perfect and the pool lovely. Le Bar is a very quiet little town, so you definitely need a car, but there are two or three good restaurants within walking distance (Les Jasmines was our favourite). There are lots of places to visit and things to experience in the area, from taking a dip in alpine mountain streams to paddle boarding on the azure coast. Milly is a delightful host and we wouldn’t hesitate recommending a stay here.

The apartment was beautiful! It was tastefully decorated, contained absolutely everything we could possibly need, and had the most wonderful views out over the valley. The centre of the village was charming, again with wonderful views and a handful of shops and restaurants. Milly and Art were the perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them. They gave us a lovely warm welcome, were very easy to get in touch with, and provided us with plenty of ideas regarding places to visit, things to do and where to eat. We particularly enjoyed our trip to Grasse and the fantastic meal we had at Hotel Partculier des Jasmins. We had a wonderful time, both relaxing and exploring the area and wouldn't hesitate to recommend La Bastide Saint Christophe. Looking forward to a return visit!

This was our second stay at La Bastide as we had enjoyed the first one so much. In 2017 the Olive Grove apartment was wonderful so we were sad that it was not available this time. However we were even more impressed with the Upper Garden accommodation with its magnificent views and secure private parking. Plenty of room for 5 guests and everything we could need for the perfect stay. As Francophiles we were delighted with the atmosphere. The swimming pool reached 30 degrees which was a boon after a hot day's sightseeing. The accommodation is such that the apartments give privacy to each set of visitors but also allow them to mingle if they wish. (The boules area and the pool).The village has a couple of good restaurants and the locals were always friendly and willing to try out their English when necessary. Milly and Art have done an excellent job making the place so welcoming. They are unintrusive but always ready to help if necessary. Thank you once again for a great week. (Why didn't we book for a fortnight???) All in all we had another wonderful stay and congratulated ourselves on making the return trip.

My husband and I spent a week in the top studio and loved every minute. The studio has a large very comfy bed, dishwasher, oven, fridge, washer dryer everything that you need. We were most impressed with the attention to detail and the thoughtful provision of little things that you need on a holiday of this type. By day there is plenty of places to visit which are not too far away and also the beautiful pool and the balcony in our apartment when we returned from our wanderings. By night there are about 6 restaurants 3 of which are excellent quality and the others aren't bad either. Superb week!
