Just a fantastically l;ocated small hotel that hosted us during our annual visit to a friend who lives in nearby Carqueiranne. All was perfectly to our taste - including the sustainability focus. Rooms were small but with a genuine sea view and there is an excellent small beach nearby. Breakfast was not included in our deal but was reasonably priced - and delicious. On-site parking is a big help too. We will be back again next year for sure.
We were very happy with our stay at Hotel Almanarre. We loved the relaxed holiday/beach vibe :-) Located right across the road from the beach, and many more beautiful beaches and sights in the area to discover! When we arrived, we were greeted by the owners who immediately made us feel welcome. They know the area very well and gave us excellent tips on visits, outings, restaurants... they even made a reservation for us. We loved the organic breakfast from local suppliers! The concept of the hotel - caring for the environment - was something we very much enjoyed. Our room was quite large and very clean. Secured parking on site definitely a plus. If we are ever back in the Hyères area, we will definitely stay here again.
We had a really good two night stay in one of the eco rooms - room 5. It is a smaller room but this was fine for us and this was communicated in advance and is clear on the website. If you want a beautiful sunset room then this is a great option. We had breakfast one day which was cutely presented and had plenty of options from croissants to hard boiled eggs to brownies and cereal plus drinks. We were planning to head to Porquerolles on Tuesday but it was super windy on the island, so we hired bikes from the hotel for the day and explored the peninsula and Carqueiranne instead. We enjoyed cycling about and there are cycling lanes on a lot of the routes in the area. Look out for the 🦩 in the local salt flats :) We did make it to Porquerolles on Wednesday and actually got a very good value packed lunch from the hotel. We went to the port by bus and I’d recommended downloading the local bus app Réseau Mistral which proved very helpful during our stay. Other info: We arrived from Marseille by train and went into Hyères town first, we then walked to the hotel which took over an hour, a 39 bus does the route but I hadn’t really done much planning. The bus goes from the station to the hotel and you can buy tickets on the app (app has an English option too). There is free water available, and shower gel and towels are provided along with lots of info and maps for the local area. I’d recommend glasses for the water in the rooms could be a nice extra touch, but I’m sure the lovely staff would have provided these if I had asked. The rooms were nicely presented and well thought out with beach house vibes. Some reviews mention traffic and air traffic noise. I’m a very light sleeper and the traffic didn’t disturb me tbh. And the air traffic finishes around 9:30pm and wasn’t frequent in September, seemed to mostly be private jets. If you’re worried about noise then bring ear plugs. Thank you to the staff for your help and kind smiles.
Very nice eco hotel where you feel yourself unites with nature. We really enjoyed our time there. The personal was very friendly and cheerful. The bedroom was clean, comfortable, big enough and safe for our babies. Also a big advantage to have a terrace. The breakfast was great with different home made yogurts, cakes, bread, cheese, tasty juices. Very good coffee and big variety of tea. Just was missing a little bit salty food: scramble would be great to eat. The beach was close but it was a little bit covered with sea plants, but the water in the sea was clean and warm these days.
A lovely hotel that makes a relaxing and affordable beach trip possible! Everything here is great: location is amazing (across the street from one beach, or a short journey to several others); the rooms are comfortable, clean, bright and airy. The staff is immensely helpful, and the food and drink offerings are great. Highly recommend if you want a cozy, welcoming place to call home while you’re in Hyeres.
I had a fantastic stay at Hôtel Almanarre Plage. The hotel is right across the road from a small, quiet beach, and a few hundred metres from the biggger Almanarre beach. I had a wonderful time doing a bike excursion to the Giens peninsula, where I did a 3 hour walk in the nature reserve with absolutely stunning views! |I very much appreciated all the eco-efforts of the hotel. They’ve done everything possible to optimise water and energy use and waste management, and use only eco-friendly products and resources. But they’ve also adopted measures to protect the environment that go beyond the hotel: they provide free bike rental to guests who arrive by train to promote sustainable transport, they provide lovely zero-waste picnics from local, organic ingredients for excursions, they are part of a fill-your-bottle scheme through which tourists can fill their water bottles at the hotel for free even if they are not guests, etc… Overall, it’s probably the most eco-friendly hotel I’ve ever been to! |The staff were very friendly and helpful, including the owners who were on-site even on the weekend. A big thanks to the Hôtel Almanarre Plage team! | |
The staff of the hotel are very friendly, kind and helpful, creating a familiar atmosphere. The hotel is very clean. Very good quality products for breakfast and dinner, locally sourced. The hotel is innovative in terms of ecological and sustainable design and infrastructure. This is a good hotel for a short stay, if you have a car or can bike to go around visit and you come to the hotel only for sleeping and breakfast.||The hotel is located by the side of a very busy district road and the traffic is non stop with constant noise, making it hard to use the balcony. The airport is very, very close by, the planes and military helicopters fly over at low altitude which also creates noise during the day.
Stayed here 1 night as we made our way along the Coast.||Pro's:|1) AC worked well and had no probelem cooling the room as it was very hot outside.|2) Breakfast was good for the price|3) Location is good for visiting the beach or Giens|4) Parking available||Cons:|1) Nothing decent to eat within walking distance that I could find.|2) Weird smell emanating from the bathroom. Just kept the door closed and was manageable.
