A really lovely restaurant with a charming atmosphere. Both waitresses were fantastic warm, attentive and genuinely welcoming. The food was amazing throughout, and the chocolate mousse was a standout absolutely incredible, especially with the hint of olive oil.
A wonderful dining experience. The beef tartare was outstanding—simple, but perfectly balanced in flavor. The pork was juicy and tender, complemented by a rich, well-crafted sauce. Dessert was a highlight: the apricot with rosemary was exceptional, and the rosemary espuma added a delicate, aromatic touch. On top of the great food, the service was excellent—the waiters were very friendly and made us feel truly welcome. Highly recommended for those who appreciate refined, honest cooking.
Beautiful little restaurant with amazing service and food. The asparagus was so delicious, the pasta flavorful and the mousse a perfect end to the meal.
Based on the reviews, we went with high expectations, but were disappointed. Lovely interior and fairly busy as the evening wore on. With only two tables occupied earlier in the evening, things did not get off to a great start. Server spilled the wine and left the spill, and it took two requests for a pitcher of water. Neither of our meals were anything special. The expensive cut of meat was tough and tasteless. The lamb tasted more like pressed meat. Our experience seems to contrast with other reviews here so the restaurant seems a good match for others, just not for us.
Had a lovely evening at Petit Jacques. The food was delicious from start to finish, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout. Great atmosphere too. Highly recommend.
We came back to Petit Jacques because we had a really great experience there in August 2025. Considering the restaurant’s reputation and Michelin recommendation, we honestly expected another very good dinner. Instead, it turned into one of the weirdest bad restaurant experiences we’ve had. The beginning of the meal was fine. The starter and amuse-bouche were okay, nothing special. My wife and I both ordered the entrecôte, which was also the most expensive main on the menu. Both plates came out badly overcooked. Mine was supposed to be rare and came almost well done. On top of that, the meat quality itself was not good at all: chewy, rubbery, and difficult to eat. We both immediately agreed something was off. We are not difficult customers and almost never send food back, but in this case we politely told the waitress that there was clearly an issue with the cooking and probably with the meat itself. We honestly expected the normal reaction: check the plate, maybe replace the dish, and move on. Instead, everything became very awkward and confrontational. Our plates were taken away in the middle of the meal, then after waiting thinking they would send us a fresh plate, we were strangely offered desserts instead of an actual solution. When we calmly explained again that the meat was not good, the waitress became very defensive and frankly quite aggressive towards us. She kept insisting there was nothing wrong with the dish and repeatedly argued with us instead of simply listening. The whole interaction became extremely uncomfortable. We genuinely felt unwelcome at that point. The attitude was tense, confrontational, and honestly completely inappropriate for a restaurant at this level. At no point did anyone try to de-escalate the situation professionally, and the chef never even came to speak to us. In the end, we were basically told not to pay and made to feel like we should leave immediately, simply because we politely pointed out a problem with the food. Mi
This is the best restaurant we visited during our time in France. The food was incredible and the village of Grimaud so charming to walk around. I will be dreaming of this meal for a while! Hope to be back again the next time I visit France.
