Parking is in the town, then walk up the hill. The birds and show are amazing. Do not that the explanation was in French only.
It's super sad to see this in 2023. All the inmates are all either chained or caged. No sign of conservation and birds taken from the wild from all over the world. I don't understand how the staff can sleep at night. The birds looked so miserable. Some display stuff, but the magnificent birds only seemed to be able to hop around on the ground. I have to imagine that they have had their wings cliped. So hard to watch. Avoid.
French is a requirement to learn from the visit. Follow the chemin de calvaire to arrive from the village
A good birds of prey show. I have been to other shows with more tricks. There is a bit on this show where they take you a little further up the hill and there are many, many birds of prey flying around and catching food being thrown to them. This part of the show is excellent.
Les Aigles d'Aure allows you to get close up to birds of prey you rarely see. It is a little haven hidden in the heights of Arreau, easily accessible from the town car park. We enjoyed the free flight demonstration so much that we came back for a falconry initiation course which was a magical moment, one-to-one with our very friendly and professional instructor, and the birds of course. The birds are bred by the licensed owner and are not taken from the wild. The birds fly following a roster.
Impressive spectacle, the trainers give you lot of trivia about each bird species. Every birds seemed happy to be there.
