Beautiful location in the woods, right next to a small stream. Their specialty is grilled meat. The service is very attentive and welcoming — definitely worth trying.

The B and B is located just outside of the town of Annecy in the countryside. We stayed only one night at the start of a three week trip through Italy. Francois and Vera were very warm and friendly and offered to make us dinner that night. As we had travelled for 14 hours we were happy to eat in rather than going out. We were served what Francois called raclette but was what we know as fondue. Whatever, it was the best we had ever had. We had champagne cocktails to start, had starters, wine and dessert. Granted, we were tired and hungry, but by any a standards this was a gourmet meal and very reasonably priced. This little spotlessly clean B and B was one of the best stops oun our trip.|

We regretted not being able to use their sleeping accommodations as we had other arrangements, but only a 10 minute drive from downtown Annecy we discovered a cute Auberge were we had a very good dinner. The L'Epicurien is very professionally run by a couple named Vero and Francois, offering tender beef steaks plus lamb cotelettes "sur un lit de braise". Their tartiflettes (made of the best local cheese) were excellent and Danie praised the salmon tartare. For dessert, we had blueberry tarts and tiramissou a la framboise (raspberry). The next time we are in Annecy we will make sure to get a room in this quiet and well run Auberge.

Si vous cherchez une adresse qui fuit les clichés des "attrapes-touristes", l'Auberge l'Épicurien à Chavanod est une véritable bouffée d'air frais.||​Ce qui frappe d'abord, c'est la rareté de sa proposition : une cuisine "minute", préparée avec une sincérité qu'on ne trouve plus partout dans la région. Ici, les produits sont de première qualité et le "fait maison" n'est pas qu'un argument marketing, c'est une philosophie de vie.||​Pourquoi il faut absolument y aller :||​La Cuisine : Authentique, fraîche et préparée à la commande. On sent le respect du produit dans chaque assiette.||​L'Ambiance : C'est ultra convivial. Les patrons sont d'une gentillesse rare, ce qui rend l'expérience encore plus chaleureuse.||​Le Prix : Pour une telle qualité dans le secteur, les tarifs sont plus que raisonnables. C'est le meilleur rapport qualité-prix des environs d'Annecy.||​Bref, une adresse qui mérite d'être connue et reconnue par tous les amoureux de la vraie gastronomie. Un grand bravo à l'équipe !

Nous y sommes allés après la visite des gorges du fier et nous nous sommes régalé. De bonnes viandes grillées au feu de bois, de bons accompagnements. Joli lieu au calme avec juste le léger bruit du cours d'eau. Un personnel très sympathique. Bref un très bon moment sans stress.
