We stayed in this Champagne house for three nights in January 2020 and our stay was great. It was a crisp winter weekend, and it was lovely looking out onto the vineyard, away from the main places like Epernay and Reims. ||The hosts made us breakfast each morning and there was Champagne in the fridge for us to taste, with an honesty system to pay. There are many champagne houses within Cramant so you can easily walk around the town and sample many different champagnes. ||There are not many food options nearby, except a small cafe which was not open on the Saturday evening and Sunday but we prepared for this and bought some food in Epernay when we were in visiting. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Eric Isselee is a very good adres to go to If you love champagne of the côte de blanc from Cramant. The visit was a one of kind. The lady seemed not to be very engaged in the tasting, but nevertheless uncorked a lot of bottles for us to taste. Highly recommend adres for champagne. Especially the vintage.
Stayed here our first night during a roadtrip in May - 14. Amazing to drive thru the wineyards to come to the village of Cramant! Really cool ahmostpheare and we loved it to stay at a actual winemaker! The room was great and what i would say very affordable! Feelt nice to be able to grab a bottle (for only 13€!) of the houses own champagnes in the shared kitchen and have it on the balcony overlooking the beautiful view of Cramant and its vineyards. Champagne have never tasted better! ||In the morning the owner and his wife prepared a lovely breakfast with all you could ask for. Breakfast we had with the other guests, a couple from Australia and another couple from Japan, which was so so nice to meet! ||After breakfast we bought some of the houses champagne with us. Will def come back next summer!
Situated in one of the Grand Cru villages this bed and breakfast has a very good value for money. If you don't expect a boutique hotel and are self-suffcient you will have a good time here. First they make excellent champagne for excellent prices. Buying 6 bottles of their champagne pays back the 2 night trip compared to Moet & Chandon. Second the location is very good on the edge of one the undulating hills of the Blanc de Blanc region. Third: Very close to other famous villages of Vertus and Le Mesnil sur Oger. There are some nice restaurants in the area. When you come home you take a bottle of champagne from the honesty bar and relive the day. We enjoyed it and will be back next year.
We stayed here for 2 nights, and overall found the B&B pleasant but with an unwelcoming atmosphere. ||+ Rooms are quaint, clean and at 55 e/night they are good value for money|+ The common area has nice views over the Grand Cru vineyards of Cramant |+ Good breakfast, with nice fresh bread and all the essentials|+ Champagne from the house is available for purchase. |- Service felt cold, with a somewhat unfriendly attitude from the hostess, who did not seem particularly interested in welcoming us to the b&b or the area. |- Sound-proofing of rooms is poor and sounds from the corridor are very audible.
We spent only one night here (in the Blanc de Blanc room which has its own bathroom) however found it to be a very charming place. Plenty of parking for rental cars. It isn't exactly five-star lodging BUT this place gets a five-star rating from me as for 120 Euros we got the room, two bottles of champagne to drink the night of our arrival AND a magnum bottle to take with us. Owners do not speak great English so if you cannot speak any French, would recommend sorting things out in advance as much as possible. Overall would recommend.
We stayed in the house Chez Charles for two weeks in August 2012 (ignor the date below as it wouldn't let me put in 2012) 2 adults and 4 children (2 teenagers and 2 under 6). Very spacious house with an upstairs sitting room for the children to watch Tv and hang out. we were there in the height of summer and ate and sat on the balcony overlooking the beautiful vineyards and valleys. If it was winter there is not a big sitting area (other than at the table) but i don't know if maybe they reorganise the house a bit for that time of year.||Accommodation - rooms all spacious and i think the house can sleep up to 12 - this would be very comfortable. We enjoyed the house and found it comfortable.||Activities: the house had a couple of bikes and we then hired some extras for the littler children from Epernay. Great location for riding through the vineyards and to one or two other villages (essential to test the different pain au chocolate quality between villages). Easy drive to Epernay and to other champagne villages - just a fabulous location with plenty of cellar doors in the village and an easy walk. Kids all enjoyed the pool and playarea on the lovely hot days we had.||We also stayed one night in the B & B section (in three rooms) and found this perfectly nice and certainly a good place for a couple to stop over for a few days. We would go back in a flash!||We did have a little bit of a difference of opnion with Mrs Issele regarding breakage of a chair and a mix up on dates for our stay...but i would not let this put you off!
Nice cute rooms and suberb location. Service was lacking a bit but didn't bother us at all. THey organized a nice breakfast for us. ||Only negative thing was the lack of soap/shampoo, and stupid us, we were not prepared for that. ||And if you're a light sleeper like I am, make sure you bring ear plugs with you as the room doors are very thing, you hear everything from the common space. So when they set up the breakfast, I heard everything and sleeping wasn't an option anymore. ||Price - value is amaying, so I would still recommend to stay here if you don't wanna pay a lot per night.
