Avis
On behalf of my 85 year old wife, following a disappointing incident. I have been a faithful, happy customer for more than 20 years, for these reasons: 1. Location. Coquelles restaurant, pharmacy, dog walking environment. 2. Ground floor 'limited mobility' rooms. Walk-in shower and more floor space. Good when taking dogs, and now needed because of medical problems. 3. Friendly, helpful staff. I book directly rather than through third parties, assuming that this reduces the franchisee's overheads, and ensuring that my needs are met. On this latest visit, I was told that my usual booking, made two weeks previously at the same time as my UK-bound outward voyage, had been transferred to a 2nd floor room in order to accommodate a group that had booked a multi-day stay that week, who had all been placed on the ground floor. I was told that hotels in Calais should be able to offer suitable accommodation, but refused to investigate this option because my priority is always the Coquelles location. If there had been an unavoidable reason for being unable to honour my reservation, I would have cancelled it and found alternative accommodation in Coquelles. When I protested, the woman aggressively defended her actions and told me that if I had mobility problems, I should book into a hotel with a lift. That was inexcusable behaviour. I only just restrained myself from slapping her face. A serious mistake was made, but it was very badly handled. Please don't do that again, because B&B Coquelles is still my hotel of choice when using Eurotunnel.
Very nice welcoming and friendly check in lady. Explained about local dining optiions. The room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable.|Breakfast was better than the usual budget hotel. There was even scrambled eggs and bacon, pus the usual pastries, cereals etc. Again very friendly staff.
Very good price. The room was small but clean. Bed was a little squeaky but comfortable and we slept well. Breakfast was actually very good with a nice seven. The lady when we checked in was absolutely lovely and the man in the morning was very welcoming and showed us the breakfast selection. I would definitely stay again. It was very neat to the Eurotunnel which was great.
I would not recommend at all’s difficult to access the hotel (no codes were shared prior to the visit to open the gates), terrible soundproofing (you can hear each and every person passing close to your room, the bathroom with the shower was terrible (dirty and seems never cleaned). The only good point is the location, which is super close to the eurotuy
Small rooms that are really run down as is the whole hotel. Our room stank of cigarettes, the bed was really hard and the air conditioning units didn’t work. Glad it was simply for a few hours rest and not longer
This is a brilliant hotel with great staff. Very handy for shuttle and within walking distance to shops
The hotel has all the needed features. It is extremely clean and well maintained. Probably our best experience in an hotel "budget". The breakfast had no fuss but a good choice for a morning before going on the road. The hotel owner invited us to fill in our flask with coffee or take some croissants with us for the road: it is a very nice touch!
Ideal location for the Euro Tunnel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Easy check in and room access via their website
