Avis
Great flea/vintage market about a 30-40 minute train ride from Paris city center. Lots of porcelains, art, furniture and trinkets. Lots of unique finds and for the most part reasonable priced. You can definitely bargain with the sellers for a better deal. They also have a variety of food stands. Although many sellers take credit card, I recommend still bring ing some cash as some have a minimum charge requirement. Also if you need to use the bathroom they charge .25¢
I attended Chatou for the second time and it’s quite an event. Beautiful, rare finds everywhere. Buying these incredible pieces means buying French, or often Italian or Dutch history. Louis XVI, Napoleon III, or even Mid-Century Modern can all be found here. I have accumulated incredible art for clients here as well. The foire de Chatou originated many years ago with farmers selling Easter ham. It merged into a furniture sale later, but the tradition of breaking for a lovely ham lunch still exists. If you love French antiques, this is an event you can’t miss!
Lovely day to explore beautiful antiques nearby Paris. Only for 1 week open. Parking is far and free but has a free train to transport you to the venue. What to do in Paris first week October! Foire de chatou
An excellent day spent at this "foire de Chatou". Lots of choice and passionate and friendly traders. Paintings, works of art but also various objects for those nostalgic of a certain era. I advise you to come by public transport because the parking is difficult to find a space.the entrance is 10€ but considering the choice, it is worth it. You can get good deals or find quite rare collection items. If you speak the local language, you can negotiate the price.I recommend this place which happens twice a year.
Reputable Vendors are rigorously vetted. It’s a carefully curated antique show with authenticated merchandise, museum quality pieces, and prices to match. From art to furniture and everything in between, a one day visit isn’t enough.
Enjoy a good day out with antiques ,art and food
Twice a year, this antiques market happens (Sept and march). Truly enjoyable, to have a great day looking for treasures and delighting the palate with savory treats
Antiques are my passion, so I loved this fair and spent hours there.
