Had troubles with thyroid before, got a scan done, they found something, went to "hopital de la conception" for my first appointment. While getting a needle in my throat i was told that "T'as peur de tout" by the medical staff. Might have been meant to be lighthearted but it was inappropriate. The Biospy is done, i go home and wait for the call to get the results. They appeared to be negative but after a week I was called back to do the test again. This time the diagnosis: C. Had to go back to get my thyroid taken out. I was told that "this is a routine surgery" and with this was the explanation/excuse when even a while after they removed my organ and I did not feel well. A routine surgery for the doctors, yes. Not for me, not for the patient. I am not used to having removed vital organs from my body. And I don't believe I need to. The hospitals (la conception and la timone) are dirty and messy and I don't blame it on the medical staff but i do believe that one can have a better time at a hospital. There's layers of dust in the corridors and the patients rooms. One time there were even excrements on the floor. I told someone from the reception (la Timone) and when I walked past the spot again later, it was still there. The staff also has no idea what is happening in their own hospital. While looking for where we needed to go we were given multiple different instruction by multiple different people from which one lead us to a department that had moved and all that was left were some machines and dust. But apparently none of the other staff knew, that nobody was going to be at that station. Another time I overheard some nurses looking for a key and nobody knew where it went, "someone might have taken it home". When you "want" to go to one of the services you have to register before. While waiting, one of the secretairies became free, so I sat down and said "Bonjour" to which her reply was "we will call you". Went again not long ago because of an allergic reaction and
I was visiting Marseille last year at Plage Mont Rose and fell down and dislocated my elbow. The ambulance brought me to this hospital. The emergency staff were extremely attentive and helpful and took very good care of me. They fixed up my elbow and put it in a cast. It has healed very nicely and has not needed any additional treatment. I am very grateful to the team at this hospital.

Extremely weak "health" system!! "Doctors" who have no idea what they should do!...and they don't do anything. You stay at the "emergency room" for 6 hours to NOT be helped with anything, but left to die if that's what's coming for you.. If you don't come with something simple to see (guts spilled or eyes put out), they don't give you tests worth even 1 euro, to find out what you suffered!
