A fabulous lunch in a very scenic location. The EUR 30 set menu was delish. The staff were super friendly. A great experience
Wonderful place with exceptional scenery to enjoy. The food is simple and delicious-- the picnic lunch was especially good. Buildings/ rooms are aged, but charming and comfortable. Staff is accommodating-- it can't be easy serving so many diverse guests, so I give them grace for any shortness/impatience they may have.
I adore the Luberon but enjoy also getting off the beaten path, and this was just the spot to do that. Amélie wanted to keep her grandmother’s farm (now turned into an auberge by her parents) in the family, and she has succeeded with some élan.||The location is magical, especially in summer when its shade offers an oasis.|As others have described it, it is a series of stone outbuildings under a huge rock outcropping. Nearby is the locally-famous Fort de Buoux. (I actually walked—with backpack— past the Fort and then over the Grand Luberon mountains to Vaugines and Cucuron, thanks to Amelie’s encouragement. Fabulous!)||Rooms are simple and rustic, with no modern tech at all, which leaves the amazing stars and a very pleasant dinner:|Hors d’œuvres variés ( chick peas, herby chèvre, raw veggies with an anchoïade dip), the best tapenade I’ve ever eaten, and a tasty mushroom toast among other items), a copious starter! Fresh trout with potatoes gratin, and then a molten chocolate cake to finish. Three choices are offered for each of the 3 courses, all for 25 Euros. And excellent wine quality and prices for a remote restaurant. ||Given the isolation of the place, it isn’t grandiose, but I found it to be a memorable stay. I found breakfast a bit lacking in quality and service, which is why I couldn’t give it 5 stars. But I would recommend it as a fabulous place to enjoy nature and rustic simplicity in the lovely but overly-touristy Luberon. Merci, Amélie, Your grandmother would be proud!|||
We came for dinner as we wanted something different to the typical French expensive bistro vibe that we were getting a bit tired of in the Luberon. We absolutely loved it! Amazing three courses, simple menu, traditional provencal style. I had the beef stew and my partner had the trout. We thought it was great value for 30 euros a head. Included a great starting platter, and a choice of dessert too. The setting is absolutely wonderful and very dramatic. Definitely worth the drive (the drive is an attraction in itself!). Highly recommend. Thinking about coming back to stay in the accommodation. Note that it’s probably not the best if you’re vegan/vegetarian, as it’s a very small, traditional menu.
We had a lovely visit to Auberge des Seguin, though it was a mix of a marvelous location and some inconveniences. On the plus side, the location is stunning - deep in a canyon directly below the famous rock-climbing walls of Buoux - almost a miniature Yosemite Valley. Moreover the food was quite good - both breakfast and dinner - especially given the bohemian vibe of the place. On the other hand, there were some drawbacks of the remote location - no WiFi or cell service in the rooms and a quite challenging drive into the Luberon range ending with a rough gravel road up to the auberge.
We - a group of 20 - had a very warm welcome and a friendly cheerful waiter. The traditional home-style kitchen offers excellent dishes and fine wine. If I could I’d come here at least once a week.
The restaurant here was delicious and very welcoming! Traditional Provencial food, well prepared, reasonably priced and in a beautiful location. The waiter was friendly and accommodating. I only took a photo of the starter plate.
My room, next to the reading room on ground floor, is above what I expected from an Auberge: spacious and have all the essentials. Totally enjoyed the home cooking at dinner and impressed by the nice selection of wines from the region. My stay was just before Easter so very quiet and serene. The absence of WiFi or mobile connection in the auberge, a feature that guests are forewarned, has been very refreshing. I wish i could stay one more night.
