As a cent percent vegetarian 🌱 there aren’t the dishes available to satisfy but going for drinks and the desserts 🍨 is worth a try. Service is quièt good and atmosphere is also charming. Go for the photos and try the Parisian food experience that people use to have it since 1896. I had celery roots with mayonnaise (taste like coleslaw) Vegetarian speggetti (normal noodles 🍝 ) you might need black peeper to swallow In desserts I had the profiteroles 🍨 (classic French dessert) 🍨 You should go for atleast one time if you are around Paris ✌️
Saw 20k review and wanted to give it a try. Escargot was good. Main came out like fast food. However the beef was as hard as rock(medium rare). Other server has no interest in helping and insist only the one who took care of my table can helped. Waited 10min+. Changed to stew beef however it also doesn't fit my palate. Later, I found out bouillon is equalivent to fast food of the past.... Cheap and quick is the key... taste seems to be secondary. Great experience, good atmosphere. My server service was good but I cant speak for the rest. Atmosphere was new and interesting
This was my first time being here. (11:45a.m.)The waiters were well experienced, as they knew how to deal with customers' bags while in a pact and congested environment. I remembered waiter number 50. He served us very speedy, cleverly, while maintained being professionally. The Duck (Confit du canard) was very good, Snails were perfect with the bread. The choucroute/sauerkraut with the sausages were also very good. We've also tried the beef tongue /w rice. Oh, what a good experience we've had in there. Of course, ironically, we had to tried the "French Fries". Though the chip were ordinarily, the sause surpassed our expectation. We once were talking about bringing the sauce back home. The environment was so grand. It was, however, pack with people and noise was inevitable. We wanted to enjoy the environment with a glass of wine, and some french deserts, but we did feel a little pushy (to leave) the moment we finished our food. And it was true that there were people waiting (13:05p.m.). Everything you try would be good. It is ashame that we couldn't try the wine and desert.
I would say this restaurant is honestly worth the hype, and the service was actually amazing! I saw some comments before going, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but our server was not rude at all. He was actually very professional, kind, and handled everything really well despite how busy the restaurant was. The place was super crowded when we arrived, and we had to wait around 40 minutes before getting a table. But after sitting down, we could totally understand why. The staff were constantly moving at full speed like taking orders, cleaning tables, serving dishes, remembering everything at the same time, etc, ... So we really appreciated their effort and efficiency. For the food, we tried the beef bouillon and the magret de canard. The beef bouillon was okay overall. The beef itself was very soft and tender, and the noodles were good too, but the broth felt a little bland to me personally. However, the magret de canard was AMAZING and definitely the better dish between the two. But honestly, the real stars for me were the snails and the crème aux œufs. They were sooo good. We genuinely enjoyed both dishes so much. The crème aux œufs especially surprised me because the top tasted slightly like honey rather than just regular sugar caramelized syrup, which made it extra good and memorable.
The best here is the service. Food? Well they ran out of the beef bourguignon so I got the rotisserie chicken which was juicy and actually was very good. My daughter had the duck and my husband had the fish bream, both were very good. The price is the best because theyve preserved the old prices since (from what i was told) 1900s so nothing beats that. The green beans was lovely. We also had the landreau bordeaux wine and i love it. Most importantly: our server Donovan made our experience the best! Very attentive and so welcoming and kind :) he made our dining experience even better… we will be back! & will be recommending to everyone!
The food is amazing. Price is very nice, 1€ for vegetable soup(although it’s sold out when we go). The meat is tender and tasty. Although the service is not the best, but what can you expect at this price:)
We came here specifically to try the escargots, but unfortunately, they were a bit burnt and crunchy, which made it hard to actually taste them. Aside from that, the rest of our food and desserts were really nice! We visited around 3:30 PM, so it wasn't too busy, and the service was lovely and attentive. I'd definitely give them another chance, but hopefully, the escargots are a bit better next time.
This restaurant is highly recommended by many. The dishes are served extremely quickly, with the waiters stacking plates on top of each other. The presentation is also quite poor, completely lacking the elegance of French cuisine. The bread is extremely chewy. The famous confit duck is just average. The beef tongue is also ordinary. The foie gras is good because it's delicious on its own. Although the price is relatively cheap, the taste is still just average.
