Terrible stay, we had to leave after one night of no sleep. Hotel completely run down, moist and moldy smell in all areas and the room. The room completely dirty, broken floors, dirty toilets and dark brown rusty/ moldy spots in the bathroom. No ventialtion, especially in the bathroom. No AC, curtains don't hold any light. Even after changing the first room, the second did not improve. Avoid this Hotel at all caost

We stayed here with a coach group on a visit around Provence. The hotel had good amenities and the food was lovely although after five days we felt the buffet could have been a bit more varied.||||We upgraded to a better and it was worth every euro. Much bigger with air conditioning and a lovely walk in shower. The only complaint was that the previous occupiers had obviously been smoking but although we mentioned this the receptionist was not bothered, however after a day the smoke odour disappeared.||||The swimming pool was fine with plenty of seats but we would have liked gradual steps into the pool as the main way to get in (apart from steep steps) was to jump in and also it was all one depth no shallow end - not too good for youngsters. The activities were great fun and excursions were also organised.||||We would return to this hotel not on a coach trip.

The hotel has a quirky layout and the grounds are very pretty and peaceful with a lovely sized pool. The bedrooms had decent balconies and were very clean, if not very modern and the beds were comfortable. ||||The food was okay, although as a vegetarian, I was given some strange 'alternative' meals compared to the others on my coach trip. I'm not sure they understand vegetarians though, as one night I was served a bunch of green beans wrapped in bacon!||||The hotel in general was very good for the price we paid and the staff were all very pleasant. However, don't expect WiFi in your room as it only works in the reception area, but a week away from the Internet didn't do me any harm! All in all, it's certainly a great place to base yourself to go out and visit the surrounding areas in Provence.

Terrible stay. The worst is the smell in the entire place. The corridors smell as if no fresh air had entered in years. It feels moldy, and sweaty.||Especially the bathrooms are disgustingly dirty. Even after changing the room after the first night the second room was even worse. We were told that those rooms are the renovated ones. Stay away from this hotel.

The hotel is beautifully situated around Apt. Our room had a balcony overlooking a well manicured football pitch. The staff are friendly and attentive and are happy to please. ||The food was good and portions were generous, but the restaurant just like most French ones don't know how to cater for vegetarian guests. If you're one, try to supplement with food from out like we did.||Overall, we had a comfortable and pleasant experience in this hotel. It's good value for what we paid for with Just Go holidays.

We stayed a week at the Castel Luberon. The hotel is clean and very comfortable, with many sporting facilities. It was a little too far from the village for older people to make the return walk, but fitter people found it easy. The food was generally good, although the choice was very limited, and consisted of traditional French cuisine. The reception and bar staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a good base from which to explore Provence.

Wife and I visited the Hotel via Just Go Holidays.||The Hotel was more than we expected, the Staff were excellent, very helpful and willing .||The buffet breakfasts were very good with lots of choice, although we were not prepared for cold scrambled egg, but idiosyncrasies are what they are. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well appointed, beds made every day, clean towels when needed.||The evening meals were not always what we expected but interesting and unusual and varied. We would go back tomorrow, Provence is everything that has been written about. Very lucky with the weather, or may be it's always like that.

Castel Lubéron is located on the outskirts of a little town called Apt. It's prepossessing from the outside but once you're in you realise it's not small - 500 rooms actually according to the chamber maid we spoke to. That being said, the atmosphere is very cosy, with very friendly staff, and you never have the feeling you're staying in a big, 'factory'-like hotel. Rooms are adequate, not very large but ok, all equipped with ceiling fans (no airco) to fight the 'provençal' high temperatures in summer. If you go for the all-in formula (available until end of August) you get a mighty breakfast, a moderate lunch, and a large don't-know-what-to-choose dinner buffet. Bar is open 10.30 - 22.30 and in between you can have cakes & coffee & what you may have - you won't starve. The Castel also organises numerous trips to numerous destinations - for free! - like Avignon (50 km), wine-producers etc., really a plethora of things to choose from. Great for everybody - families with kids, elder people, you name it. Two swimming pools and animation - darts, tennis, jeu de boules, ping-pong and much more. But if you want, you can always go to one of the quieter areas and read a book. Warmly recommended.
