A truly magical place, capable of making you lose yourself in another era. Easily accessible by foot from the city, the place is well kept and offers the possibility of taking a walk in absolute quiet. Very beautiful!

A calm place accessible by foot or car. My three year old did the walk. The views at the summit are lovely. There is a cannon and bunker as well as a number of well maintained stone walls. Perfect for a brief family outing as part of an exploration of the medieval town of Cremieu.

We wandered to this small medieval village of southeastern France. This commune has a medieval history dating back to the 12th century. Now only rubbles of the old stone walls and ruins of the castle are left for local and international tourists to see. The castle was built on a hill overviewing the whole town and has this majestic view from the top. Back in the 14th century, a fortified wall was constructed (almost 2 kilometers long, with 9 gates and 14 towers). The wall encircled not only the royal castle, the old town and the cliff of Saint-Hippolyte, but also the site of a town below, next to an Augustinian monastery.

Enjoy the view on the medieval city of Cremieu, fron the top of the ramparts. there is an access from the top if you don't mid driving on a dirt road for half a mile. On that very same road, you may stop to look at the "Imprimerie Clandestine". once on the ramparts, don't miss the educational bee hive where you may see the bee at work...

If you are in the area, nice to see and walk around

Simply fantastic. The battlements are located atop a hill overlooking Crémieu village. If you climb to the top, you will be rewarded with a great view of the surrounding hills as well. The ruins are so well-preserved, you feel as though you are actually walking the grounds of an active medieval castle. What at first seems like a quick visit can easily turn into a leisurely 1.5-hour tour, as you gradually discover the different walls and towers, stop to examine the moss-covered walls and take pictures of the flowers and mushrooms on the ground. You can park your car atop the hill or down in the village (in which case, it's quite a climb up). The village of Crémieu is also charming, with its cobbled streets, cafés and small shops.

The view is cool and the spot is clean, but come on please do something with it, maybe some explanation of what we are looking at, maybe some plants or little shop or exposition. This is just nothing for now.
