LE GRAND BALCON

This hotel is just a few steps away from Place du Capitole in central Toulouse, so the location is hard to beat. It's also a 5-minute walk from Capitole station on the red line of the Toulouse métro, which connects to the main train station at Tolouse-Matabiau. Our room was on the 1st floor (not street level, for North Americans), facing the Rue des Lois. The room was surprisingly quiet, given its location. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was perfectly fine.||||We used the lounge to have breakfast on our final morning; it was a convenient option, and the food was fine, although it was slightly on the pricey side and as a value-for-money proposition, it could have been slightly better. You'll want to balance the convenience factor against cost when choosing whether or not to eat breakfast at the hotel.||||The Place du Capitole has lots of dining options, but choose carefully. We tried three restaurants; one was good, the other two were extremely average. You'll do much better by going farther afield than the immediately surrounding area to the hotel.||||All in all, this is a very good hotel in an extremely convenient location!

A wonderful hotel 10 steps from the center of the historic center Capitole with many cafes. Tie rooms are a good size and the shower is perfect. There is a balcony overlooking the square and a pedestrian street. The young ladies that work here are very friendly and keep the hotel spotless. There is free coffee all day. It is very safe and a quiet area surrounded only by pedestrian streets. This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.

Brilliant stay at Le Grand Balcon - only reason I knocked it down to 4* (and in reality it was more 4.8) was the state of the carpet in the room. Looked like it has been piecemealed together, had what looked like blood near the bed, and needed another hoover. Other than that, facilities were excellent, staff were super friendly and it’s in SUCH a good location. Carpet wouldn’t stop me staying there again, that’s for sure!

Very affordable and comfortable for such a perfect location. The location is perfect. You couldn't ask for better. The shower was amazing! The staff were always there and ready to help any time of day. Perfect size tv with all the news, arts and culture channels. Surprisingly well priced. Easy to get to the airport or the trainstation by public transit. Carrefour City grocery store next door has the essentials with product variety and decent selection. The toilet bowl small flush button was broken in our room. The other one worked so it was not an issue. The fridge was not cold just cool, worked for our purposes though. I would point out that it is the very center of the city so if you are looking for somewhere quiet, this is not it. The garbage truck workers pass in the middle of the night and they are VERY loud talkers!

+||We chose Le Grand Balcon because it was recommended. Although the check area is unconventional, Augustine, the receptionist is exceptional. A truly capable gentleman who went beyond the call of duty to make our visit to Toulouse memorable. If Augustine was manager we're certain that the floors and carpet in the rooms would have been clean. They were not!||Perhaps the best breakfast in Toulouse!

wonderful location, great staff, superior breakfast. Room was lovely, only complaint is that there was really no place to hang towels or clothes in the bathroom. Parking in the public underground lot nicely discounted by half.

I had a beautiful time at Le Grand Balcon. It was the refuge I was looking for my stay in Toulouse. I slept very well in the comfortable bed, the bathroom in the room is luxurious and tasteful, and everyone I encountered on the hotel team was exceptionally lovely. It was perfect, really. ||Highly recommend.

With a privileged location, an antique classic and historical building, this hotel is a nice surprise for Toulouse visitors.||Guest services are fast and precise, amenities are well prepared, rooms have a good space, relatively new furniture, new and soft sheets and towels. Bathroom does have a door to avoid floods!||breakfast with fresh juice, nice options of breads, cheese and protein.||Surroundings are full of life, restaurantes and points of interest.||Recommend it
