This exceptional castle sitting peacefully on the Loire Was simply magical. Spacious rooms artistically decorated you feel you are in a fairytale. Everywhere you lay your eyes is something more beautiful. Plenty of windows everywhere gorgeous solid rich furniture, Comfortable beds, We Discovered new little corners everywhere on the property every day❤️ Fabulous place to get married or to go with girlfriends💕 Pictures do no justice you have to live the experience.

Candes St Martin is a beautiful location. We stayed in the three bedroom loft/gite which was perfect. Very comfortable with plenty of space and lovely decor. We overlooked the river - the views were absolutely stunning. The private garden was perfect as we had our dog with us. Pool and spa lovely. Had a very relaxing massage in the Spa. The area is well set up for biking and sightseeing, plenty of wine tasting opportunities and good restaurants. Highly recommend staying at Chateau de Candes - Art & Spa. We will definitely return.

Beautiful chateau and spa with so many surprising spots to discover. Small walk in the woods with art everywhere leading you to a great bfast and lunch resto with a water view. All the amenities you can think of and more. Friendly staff that make you want to stay forever. You will fall in love with this place.

Really lovely accommodation directly on the banks of the Loire. Wonderful view from the spacious room across to the river. The rooms had everything we needed including an induction hob and microwave in addition to the coffee maker and fridge. No air-conditioning but rooms were cool and fans provided. Staff were lovely- very friendly and helpful. Café- open for breakfast,lunch and closed at 6pm. Lovely spot again overlooking the Loire. Interesting street art garden which was unusual but interesting. Pool area a short walk, very peaceful.The pool was next to the chateau rooms and there were stunning views from the chateau garden. I really recommend this accommodation and would happily stay again if visiting the Loire.

We absolutely loved the Chateau and the overall concept! Such a magical place to explore and relax at. It's very different than the other antiquated chateau hotels - youthful, designy and modern.

This was such a disappointing experience. The accommodation was hugely overpriced for what turned out to be a very basic Air b n b style flat - not the luxury accommodation it was billed as. I complained the day after I arrived and it transpired I had been overcharged at over €500 a night for an apartment that should have been €465 per night. This is still an outrageous amount for a flat in a block outside the main chateau. The whole thing felt greedy with far too many flats crammed into a small building, with a really basic garden at the end - a drive runs alongside the flats themselves. It felt more banlieue than countryside. The apartment itself was not of the quality I was expecting, cheap wardrobe in the hallway with a few hangers you get free from the cleaners, the runners hanging off the bottom of the doors. One pillow each on beds. Bathroom - no separate shower just a handheld (plastic) over the bath - no shower screen. I also felt this was billed as an apart-hotel, so had paid more than I could have for an independent house with pool in this area, having the impression this would be luxury accommodation with hotel services, such as cleaning etc. I had to ask for a mid-week clean. The photos also give the impression that the chateau is part of the experience, maybe you could head there for breakfast, a coffee on the terrace or a drink? The Chateau was completely shut off whilst we were there. The terrace in front is completely bare - no tables or chairs to sit overlooking the Loire. Breakfast is served in a cafe down by the entrance on the road. The pool area is nice but also a bit run down inside compared to the photos. This property is part of a group, not the personal, passion project they try and convey. There are no senior managers, such as the DG on the property. I have in numerous places this year, including two directly comparable apartments in the same price range. The quality of the apartments and services was far higher in both cases.

Spent 7 nights here with my family of four (two teenage sons) in one of the self catering 'maisons' attached to the main Chateau. Couldn't have chosen a better place. Loads of activities on site plus a perfect position near two small villages and in-between Saumur and Chinon.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Le Chateau de Candes. The accommodations were beautiful and updated and the grounds were stunning. We stayed in the ‘Maison Katcha’ which was very spacious, and had a great kitchen and amazing views. Sam and Bertrand were amazing, welcoming hosts. This was the perfect location for doing a bit of exploration of the Loire but also just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
