We ended up touring three champagne houses during our trip to the Champagne region, and each was unique. Pommery topped them all. Our trip to Reims was last minute so we could not get a guided tour at any house and stumbled upon the self-guided option at Pommery. It turned out to be fantastic. We had wanted to see at least one house with cellars that date to the original Roman mining of the area, and the ones at Pommery did not disappoint. But it was way more than that. It is a very ART-FORWARD experience. On the grounds, in the museum, and even in the cellars. Art that does not take itself too seriously. I’m sure the guided tour is very interesting, but we had already heard how champagne is made at other houses and did not need that part again. Being able to wander in the cellars was awesome. The museum was great. And the tasting was a nice full glass with a beautiful courtyard to sit in. Highly recommend.

This is a must-visit if you're in Reims!!Pommery estate itself, one of the most impressive domains in the region. Everyone at the Pommery is friendly and helpful and I must single out, Carla, who was a superstar. I had a knee injury and she was very attentive to our group! The guided tour through the cellars is fascinating: you see part of the 18 km of underground galleries, a huge number of bottles, and what makes Pommery truly unique- chalk-carved scenes and several modern art installations deep underground. The art exhibits are unique and breathtaking. The guide was excellent throughout, and the experience ended in the main hall of Pommery with another tasting. If you wish, you can then visit an exhibition or shop in the boutique or just chill and drink some champagne. All in all, a rich, well-organized and highly enjoyable experience. Be sure to reserve your guided tour in advance as the place gets busy!!

We had a good time at this family friendly experience. We chose the self guided tour, which was easy and informative. At the start, it's suggested to download the Pommery app. We did, but it basically says aloud the same details that are on the map that you're also given. No need to download the app if it's nothing different. You descend by stairs down into the chalk pits and you walk through art installations while learning about the cellar. It's more of a museum than anything, but they've done a nice job. We enjoyed our glass of champagne at the end (delicious!), and the kids enjoyed a glass of sparkling grape juice. If you're going to be in the area exploring champagne, I'd definitely recommend it, but it's not something I'd drive far out of the way to do. I thought it was priced a little high for being self guided, and we had no idea where to park as the visitor parking was full. We ended up finding free street parking.

This is one of the coolest “things” we’ve done on all of our travels. we just loved it. Beautifully clean, tidy, fun, creative, quirky, friendly, and at times jaw dropping. We thought we’d be 1 hour but stayed for 3 hours. Cool cellars, amazing history, stunning art, and a lovely champagne at the end. I’d like to give this 10 stars please. We had so much fun just wandering around taking photos. If you love photography then you’ll love this place

Our visit to Vranken-Pommery was absolutely breathtaking and a highlight of our trip. The tour offers a perfect and seamless blend of champagne craftsmanship, house history, and contemporary art, exactly as Madame Pommery envisioned it. It was fascinating to learn about the production process while walking through the impressive historic chalk pits, which are an artistic exhibition in themselves. We truly enjoyed the beautiful story of the house, the elegant boutique, and, of course, the excellent tasting session. I highly recommend booking a tour here if you are in Reims!

【Quick Summary】An exploration of vast underground cellars where art and history intersect! Experience the dynamic world of a major Champagne house. 【Purpose of Visit】Recommended for anyone from beginners to advanced Champagne lovers who want to enjoy large-scale cellars and unique art exhibits. ✅ Experience (Tour & Tasting) The grounds, buildings, and the expansive underground cellars (caves) are incredibly vast, and the tour was highly engaging. A standout feature was that the tour wasn't merely a storage cellar visit; colorful lighting and contemporary art objects were placed throughout. It felt like walking through a subterranean art museum, allowing us to fully appreciate the unique and dynamic world of Veuve Pommery. We also found special cellar plates for places like Kyoto and the Hotel Okura in Tokyo on the cellar walls, which was a fun discovery and a reminder of the house's connection to Japan. We visited without a prior reservation, and it was fortunate that we were able to join a tour at a good timing. A Champagne tasting followed the tour. Although the Champagne was delicious, since major houses' bottles are generally available at stable prices worldwide, we decided not to purchase souvenirs on this occasion. ✅ Environment (Atmosphere & Facilities) The stairs and tunnels leading down to the cellars are illuminated with colorful lighting, creating a mysterious and fantastical atmosphere. The vast space features a unique blend of history and art, with carvings on the old stone walls and the display of a massive wooden cask. ✅ Final Thoughts This is a distinctive house experience where the historical scale of the Champagne region's cellars merges with modern art. If you have the time, this is certainly a spot worth visiting.

Incredible chateau tour in the Champagne region, well worth the money as it was slightly cheaper than options at other locations. Very cool art installations and beautifully appointed inside. We did the Champagne and Heritage tour which also allowed us to visit and do a tasting in the small historic house across the street. Our guide Laura was fantastic and informative. Highly recommend spending the little extra and getting a guided tour. Lots of people doing self guided tours and definitely seems like you get a lot less out of the experience.

Interesting experience. Having visited wineries in Napa/Sonoma and comparing it to the European more intimate experience I feel this place has swung too far the other way trying to emulate the North American way. I think they would have been better off embracing the smaller house feel, intimate cellar and small scale experience rather than the quantity over quality. The cellar tour was an experience, but why does it have to have an art installation distracting from the cellar itself. This may be artsy for some people but it was not the champagne cellar experience we were hoping for.
