This is the most beautiful beach on this coastline, and even though it takes about half an hour to reach it, first by walking through the smelly Piantarella beach and then through narrow paths between bushes alongside a nearby golf course, it’s totally worth it. My advice: don’t bring too much stuff because some of those bushy paths are really narrow, making it less convenient to carry a lot. If you’ve already made it up the steps from the smaller Petit Sperone beach and continued all the way here, you’ll definitely appreciate it. There were far fewer people, and the beach is larger, wider, and absolutely stunning. After emerging from the bushes, you’ll need to walk a bit along narrow roads where electric golf carts zip by pretty fast, so keep an eye out—especially if you’re with kids, as it can be a bit dangerous. But once you make it and walk down those wide, steep steps to the beach, you’ll be totally satisfied. The place looks incredible—the sand and water are just perfect. See for yourself, it’s amazing!
A beautiful beach and one of the more memorable places on our visit to Corsica. Definitely worth the hike to get there!
Beautiful beach, clear water and not overcrowded in early April. This is the type of beach the locals go. Don't make the mistake I did, make sure you take plenty of sunscreen and apply it frequently!
Simply spectacular. We arrived at Pianterella at 8am on a weekday, mid June. Got to Grand Sperone at around 8:45am. Just us and 2 others there. Gradually more busy as the day goes on, but nothing crazy. A little slice of paradise for your holiday. If staying in Bonifacio, it’s worth the effort of climbing over the rocks and seaweed. The walk is super easy from Petite Sperone!
Top favorite beach, if you can find it! The beach is not accesible by car, and is more accesible for those staying in the villas near the golf course. We were not staying in the villas and it was over a mile walking through forest and untamed bushes to arrive at an absolutely stunning beach. I like that it had both clear waters and to the right an area for snorkeling and seeing fish.
Amazing beach, not too big but gorgeous sand and clean fine water. But, get there really early (8?) so you can leave when the hordes of people come…. till around 10 you’re fine….
This beach is just wow. I love it! So worth maybe 3 km of walking. Maybe less but it felt like 10km lol Water is just a bit cold when you get in, but it is warmer afterwards. Though it is colder than in other beaches like Santa Giulia, or Tamaricciu, or Plage de Canneto. But it is crystal clear. There is no internet here, you will most probably be in roaming with Italy. But i LOVE this beach! Perfect size, perfect color, there was perfect amount of people (at least when we got here around 12pm on july 12th). The road: maybe there are better ways to get to here, but i read so many comments and i decided to follow advice and walk from Piantarella beach. First we had to park on the side of the road, but we managed to do that at least 1 km from Piantarella. There was insane amount of cars. Then we walked that kilometer until we got to some rocks in the sea. Then you have to climb those rocks and you will get to Piantarella. Piantarella is simply awful beach, you can try swimming until you get to that famous path that leads to the island, but we didn’t try. Later on, around 4pm, there was just too many people walking on that sea path. Then you just follow the road, and you will come to Petit Sperone very fast. The beach is beautiful but small and crowded. Then you continue - you have to climb on some rocky path, looks a bit tricky but it is ok. By now we were walking at least 2km on the sun with zero shade. But from this rocky path there will be straight path and it will be through the woods and shade so it will be much better. At least 1km or maybe 800 meters and you will get to Grand Sperone. If you try getting to Grand Sperone in this way, you will walk too much but you will see 3 beaches. I think it is worth it, but it IS very hard.
Lovely. Not crowded (last week of August). Incredibly clean. 20/25 min walk from the parking but it’s worth it
