Avis
We ordered the ribeye, ray wing and island dessert. The ribeye was a bit chewy. The was quite soft. Unfortunately they forgot about our dessert, but the dessert itself was nice.
Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. Onion soup was the best I ever had. Food tastes fantastic.
We visited this place on a Friday just after the market had ended. The staff made it very clear that there would be a long wait for food as they had a big group inside. We were not in a rush and drinks came quickly, so we were happy to wait in the sun (other tables decided not to wait). As it happened our order came surprisingly quickly in the end and was very good - so glad we had decided to stay. It is a busy place and the food is very good. It was very good of the staff to set expectations from the start, then at least you can decide whether you want to wait or not. Wish more places would do that rather than leave you waiting for a long time. Would definitely go there again.
Stopped here for lunch, enjoyed an amazing burger, reasonable prices in centre of town.
We went to St Jean this past Friday for dinner. We were seated immediately and the food was amazing! We were tourists but we were still treated with great respect. The waitress was also amazing. I didn’t get her name but she had a ponytail and she had glasses on she didn’t speak very good English but she still made sure to check on us and was very polite!
Have gone here twice and both times have gotten horrible service. While there for brunch, they put us in a corner table and then went about as if we were not there. I understand when it gets busy service does not always good smoothly, but they were not busy at all ( had maybe 5 tables with only 2-3 people. But they did have more than 5 waiters working). When asked for water our waiter literally waved us off. I have never gotten so many rude looks and eyerolls by servers. <- that was all for brunch. We thought we would try again to get a beer after dinner and when asking for 2 beers the bartender turned and rolled her eyes and was giving rude stares while we have a drink. And we came in an hour before closing, plenty of time for one round and leaving with plenty of time before closing. Bottom line if you speak English and not French don’t come here. You won’t be welcome!!
Somewhere between a crèche and a restaurant... Food was variable. Steak was very good. Escalope bland. Sauce so sterile it could have come from a bottle. Deserts were poor - for a French restaurant to be below the standard of an average English pub, well that's not good at all. Service was slow, not because the staff don't work hard but because there's only three of them trying to work a two storey restaurant. Overall somewhat overpriced for what it is.
Some of it was really good (the fried camembert, homemade fries) others not so much (very fatty tete de veau, the cheesecake for dessert was straight from the freezer en very much still frozen and also tasted cheap). Same for the courses my boyfriend ordered. All in all the food here really is a hit or miss.
