Amazing visit! We booked the private Heritage tour and could not recommend it more. The guide (Steffi) was super friendly and shared such good stories. We learned about the family, went to the super interesting labeling room, we wanted to see the cellar and it was not a problem. The champagne was great and we could taste it in the beautiful room and/ or the terrace. 5/5!
Did the Tower Tour and tasting. Loved every minute of it. Guide was great; very helpful and informative. Great champagne. Totally recommend.
Delightful’ describes our experience at Champagne de Castellane. Coming from Australia, we had not had any exposure to the brand, however when you arrive in Epernay by train the tower on the property calls out “come and explore”. We did the English speaking tour and were able to climb the 200 steps to the highest part of Epernay looking over the Avenue de Champagne and the sprawling county side, even seeing the village where Dom Perignon lived. This fabulous tour ends with several glasses of really yummy Champagne, we loved it.
I was drawn to this house of Champagne thanks to the colorful Tower. I took the tour of caves + tower. The tower could start earlier, I was the only one in the group. Enzo, the guide, introduced the history of de Castellane. Fun fact, the tower used to be a "Chateau D'eau" made by the same architect as the one who built Gare de Lyon. The best part of the Tower is sight from the top. The "caves" part was guided by Steffi, a Dutch born guide. This part of the tour is more focused on the factory and Riddling(rotation of bottle). Finally the caves are not as deep as other houses. It is at least 1km long. Of course, no Champagne tour can end without Champagne tasting. Everyone go theirs.
Really nice champagne house - we only visited one but I was happy we chose this one. Great tour and caves. Take a trip up the the tower (lots of steps) for a beautiful view.
We did the heritage tour and it was really nice. Our guide Stefanie did a wonderful job and knew a lot about the champagne house. She was very welcoming and the tasting after was great as well.
I would absolutely recommend the Heritage Tour. My boyfriend and I did this tour. We were guided by Stephanie, such a great and sweet host. We learned a lot about the history of Castellane and got to see the beautiful building. The place where all the labels are kept is very impressive. And not to forget…. the champagne: we loved the Brut Vintage 2014.
We enjoyed this very affordable but very informative guided tour a lot. You get to see the whole production process and line from the beginning all the way until the disgorgement, labelling and packaging. Great value for money.
