Had the best experience today at Gisors Castle. We arrived fully expecting only to be able to see the gardens. Fortunately we were able to see the interior of the castle. We had the most amazing guide, Magnolia. She was so informative, interesting and answered all our questions. There was so much to see with such a varied history. My husband and I went round for just over an hour and we can honestly say that we have never been more in awe of a castle. We loved every minute. Magnolia was the perfect guide, a major bonus was her perfect English, a huge thank you.

Being from America, seeing something so magnificent is amazing. Granted, we saw it when it was closed, the restoration is coming along beautifully. The sear size of the grounds is wonderful and open. This is one place I would keep coming back to. Every angle is beautiful.

Lovely park in the centre of Gisors surrounding the foot of the 10th century chateau. Free parking and good access. The Chateau is being restored, there are tours, tickets from tourist information which was closed when we visited (midday Wednesday). Pity, it looked a great place go and explore

Great location and very easy to visit because there is free parking just outside the entrance. Restorative work is in progress. The inside of the main walls is free to enter but there are no interpretive panels - that’s disappointing. There are guided tours and one in English, see notice (Photo posted) near the gate. Worth visiting.

Not good. What is there is locked up. The gardens are fine but why bother preserving a castle if visitors can not access the towers etc? A very interesting motte, shell keep with donjon and some unique galleries for archers - yet all inaccessible. We visited enroute back to the ferry, so no great loss. However, Gisors is missing out on something. In fact, they are missing out on everything.

It's an interesting castle in a pretty setting on a hill and in a public park. Wish you could climb to the main keep or the walls though.

Very calm and good place to visit.

Was under repairs while there. However it is a beautiful park and the castle is cool and has a view, of you take the tour up to it.
