Just checked out - reading previous reviews I felt I must comment as a lot of negativity! Yes there is no lift but we managed the stairs ok, yes it is a bit tired but as long as the room is clean (bedding) and a bathroom to shower and clean up then what's the problem?? Helpful staff on reception and really central - right next to chateau! What a treat on Saturday night - fireworks at midnight and they were amazing and last night salsa in the square - right up our street!! It is noisy BUT it's in the centre of the town - what do you expect??!!! Was definitely worth the money we paid - did not have breakfast but went out in the town!! Would love to return!

I arrived after a long and exhausting day and found a cozy and inviting room. The bed was comfortable and luxurious. The location is perfect right in the city center, and I especially want to highlight the excellent service from Dominik, who was genuinely helpful, gave great tips, and even kept my belongings safe after I checked out. Highly recommended I'll definitely be back ;)

I stayed in this hotel for 6 days and i loved it. The staff were so nice and friendly. I enjoyed my stay here. The location is perfect if you want enjoy all the places its near to everything. The restaurants, Coffee shops, bars, and so close from the castle. Post office. I recommend this hotel for everyone. I for sure will come back again and stay here.

Room 17 has a stunning view over the central square. So convenient for visiting the Palace and gardens, on 50 metres away. The hotel was very friendly and the breakfast good value for money. As you would expect with a 2* hotel not everything was perfect, but it was clean and tidy.

Very good location and extremly friendly staff with lot of sens of humor and helpfulness. Next to the palace, several bars and restaurants all around. Quiet and confortable room with free Wi-Fi and tv. Nothing luxurious but perfect for a short stay and a 2 stars hotel. I will back as soon as possible, hopefully next year for Imperial trail.

Horrendous stay from the point of arriving at the hotel. They couldn't find our bookings even with us showing our booking confirmation emails. Very disorganised set up in the lobby/dining area/ironing room. My room was in need of major renovation: cracks in the walls and ceiling, mirror fallen off the wardrobe door so stuffed to the back of the wardrobe, no sink plug, plug sockets loose in the walls and radiator cover panel completely adrift. I wouldn't walk around without at least socks on as floor had been 'cleaned' covering it in a sticky residue. |I was charged twice by the hotel for my stay and they have refused to refund me. Good thing booking.com have stepped in to get me my money back as the hotel is now denying that i ever had a reservation in the first place.|Please find anywhere else in fontainebleau to stay
