Brilliant find in Paris! We had heard good things about this venue so went to see for ourselves, especially as we were styayiung nearby. I am SO glad we did. We were so impressed that when we were unexpectedly stuck in Paris for an extra night we deceided that we would visit a second time. This place is unashamedly a meat-lovers paradise and the reputation is well deserved. We went there as two adults with two children aged 13 and 8. None of us are what could be described as "fussy" eaters. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, remebering us on the second time from our previous visit. Service was excellent. Over the two visits we tried a number of different dishes. All equally excellent. Some of the best steaks we have tasted anywhere. The small appetiser sausage was also delicious. The price was also right for the food and the quality. They could even have charged a higher premium and it would still have been good value. Of the things we tried: The bread: Fresh, so fresh it was still hot in the bag they brought it to the restaurant in! The crist with the proper crackle. The dough light and full of flavour. Tastes EXACTLY how the imagination says it should. The snails: Well prepared and tasty, 12 snails in their shells. Prepared in a light dressing that accentuated their flavour not overwhelmed it. Yes, it was a little tricky to grip them in the tongs, but it just added to the experience when one seemed to make a bid for freedom. (I really should apologise to the people on the table next to us, I'm sure some of the oil splashed on them...) Marrobone: Melt-in-the-mouth delicious. Too much of it would probably upset the tummy, but what a taste! The fats rendered perfectly to melt on eating. The boys couldn't get enough of it, and an ideal dish to use to dip our breads in. Steak Tartare: Brought out well presented. Expertly prepared and mixed in front of us. We were offered the choice of mustard and tabasco, either, or both. Just to ensure the kids co
Bone marrow was good, the wine was fine for the price. However the filet de boeuf was perhaps the saddest cut of filet I've seen in my life, I'd sooner believe it was rump. This only became more disappointing after seeing the table next to me receive a nicely charred, thick cut of filet that wasn't frayed and falling apart. I would not recommend for those who can't speak French.
La Forge is a magnificent restaurant! The service was impeccable and the staff was super nice. We arrived right at opening time in the evening and was greeted as if we were long time friends by the hosts. What a wonderful experience. We ordered the pâté and escargots for starters and shared a 1kg meat for main. It was almost more than we could eat 3 people. The taste and quality of the food was truly 5 star in my opinion. I highly recommend eating here. If I come back to Paris this is a must go to for me.
Our visit was absolutely delightful! It's an excellent spot for a delicious dinner. The setting is peaceful and comfortable, and the service is friendly. Not to be missed, the proprietor brews his own cognac, so definitely take the opportunity to sample it!
La Forge French Restaurant offers a delightful atmosphere with fast and friendly customer service that enhances the dining experience. The food is outstanding, particularly their French-style steak, which is both popular and delicious. The fries and sides complemented the meal perfectly, and the bread was exceptional. A highlight of my visit was their homemade wines, which were incredibly delicious and surpassed even the food in my estimation. I highly recommend La Forge to travelers in Paris. Explore their menu, especially the wine selection, for a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of French cuisine and hospitality.
Scallops are heavenly light, meat cooked to perfection, great blue cheese sauce and incredibly fluffy and rich chocolate muss! We enjoyed every meal and atmosphere l, it was the right decision to celebrate Valentine's day here!
We visited with a group of friends. A pleasant experience with excellent service. The dishes are simple (in a positive way) and well prepared. We had a wonderful evening here.
A fantastic meat based restaurant. The taste and quality of food were "out of this world", as my food and hospitality industry expert friend said. The lamb was an absolutely new experience for me in this quality. They have their own cognac which was really great. Their wine selection was perfect, and our waiter knew that perfectly, so he had a good conversation about them with the expert of our group. The desserts and bread were fantastic as well. So it is hard to say anything else, than it is a real a 5 stars bistro.
