Rooms were not maintained, electricity was faulty on arrival, douche drains were clogged and there was dust everywhere. Upon arrival our car did not fit in the garage, we were promised we would get the money back that we paid for the garage spot. However, when we checked out we were told they never refund anything, this was our own fault, we should have called beforehand whether the car would fit in their 1.9m garage and what the other employee promised us when checking in was a lie. Horrible service.
We stayed in le Bois in block b in a 1 bedroom appartment, a family of 4.||It’s in the heart of La Tania just a couple of minutes away from the cable car, ski school, ski hire and the restaurants in La Tania.||Our appartment was managed by agences Saulires who were very efficient and easy to pick up / drop of keys. ||The appartment itself was warm and cozy with one bedroom with 2 single beds and a sofa bed that splits into 2 single beds in the main living space. The apartment is small but does fit 4 people. They provide linen for the beds and towels. |The kitchen is well equipped with induction hob, microwave and a fridge /freezer.|We had a balcony with a view of the mountains. |There was no wifi but we rented a 4G WiFi box from the agent and we could connect it to the TV which had Netflix and other streaming services. ||There is a ski storage space on the ground floor but pretty basic and cold so wet ski boots remained wet!||Overall we were happy with our stay. It’s a budget option so don’t expect luxury but it’s comfortable and warm and the location is excellent.||La Tania is a really nice resort, quite quiet and easy to get around, There are a handful of restaurants which on the whole are good value for money compared to the rest of courchevel, and the resort is good excellent ski wise as connects to meribel and courchevel 1850 with a lovely long green / blue run down to the resort.||If you’re looking for a budget no-frills option with an excellent location then definitely can recommend le bois.
We stayed over Christmas, arriving on Christmas Eve. La Tania isn't as picturesque as some of the other resorts. It's small and fairly quiet, with only one bar, which was just fine by us. Even though we were on the first floor overlooking the main street, we couldn't hear the bar at all.|The room was compact, but very comfy for the three of us - four would be fine too. In block B, the kitchenette and bathroom had been refitted with clean, modern fittings. The place was warm and clean. Although the kitchen area was quite small, cooking was easy - we even did a full Christmas dinner (we'd taken a slow cooker in our luggage, which was really useful!) Luckily we'd taken foil rosting tins, as there's only one in the oven. Good dishwasher and fridge with freezer compartment. 5 dishwasher tabs, sponge, cloth, teatowel, and small bottles of washing up liquid and surface cleaner are provided.|The Sherpa supermarket is less than 5 mins walk, with an excellent range of local and international produce, but very expensive - take as much food as you can manage with you. Several restaurants in the town, but also pricey, as are lunches on the slopes - slice of pizza and chips €12, Bolognese €18, although these are enough for two.|The TV has the main British channels - with a hdmi cable, you can play video files from a tablet easily, although there's no wifi for streaming.|There was enough storage space to unpack fully, and plenty of hanging space to dry wet ski gear. The ski lockers are good but cold - take boots to your room. And you can indeed ski right from the apartments.|We couldn't hear noise as such from other apartments, voices etc, but every clunk and thud is pretty clear - take ear plugs for overnight. Clean towels and sheets were provided, although you need to make your own beds.|Overall, we were very comfortable - we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
Clean and recently refurbished apartment which was well stocked with equipment. We were a family of 4 but upgraded to a 6 person apartment which was well worth it. Location was great right next to the piste, ski hire, mountain views, ski school and a short ski run to the nearest lift. Sherpa supermarket 100m away. The chap on reception was helpful and friendly. We also had two Crystal reps that were often visible and available. Will be even better when the ski locker is refurbished which is a bit tired! Overall highly recommended.
We stayed at the Grand Bois during February (welsh) half term. We had a great deal for the week including our lift passes from Crystal so we were a little apprehensive as you usually get what you pay for. The accommodation was of a decent standard, if a little dusty here and there but you can live with that. Our room was pretty good, but others in our party had issues, like the matress cover had seen a lot of action with a large stain on it, but this was rectified with a call to the Crystal rep. They say it’s been recently refurbed, but again it seem some rooms are modern, others a bit dated so it’s hit and miss really?? If you turn up expecting basic rooms in a fantastic location, you will be happy, but if you paid £1k per person, as it is advertised during English half term you will be disappointed!! As I just mentioned the location is spot on, ski straight from the boot room, down the slope to the lift, and right next to the beginner slope where the children can use their sleighs until their heart is content in the evenings. We loved La Tania as a family resort, nice and small so you get to know people, with enough going on for a few nights out in the week. There is a nice easy green and blue back to the resort so it caters well for the beginners. The Folyeres blue run back to the village is one of the best blues in the 3 valleys!!! Would I stay here again, for the price we paid, yes I would, as it’s usually advertised for around £400pp with Crystal which is very good value.
Overall good experience here. Clean apartment with 2 tiny bedrooms, 1 with bunks and 1 with smallish twin beds. Pull out sofa bed in living area. To be fair it was quite adequate for our family of 5 and we have stayed in smaller French ski apartments. Kitchen well equipped if you're self catering. Reasonably stocked supermarket within few minutes walk. Ate out 1 or 2 nights (Les Marmottons) close by and food was quite nice. Access to slope just outside door of apartment block. About 100 m to La Tania gondola. I never saw a queue there but we were only heading out at about 10 ish but if resort is busy it is the only lift out of the resort. After that its easy access to whole 3 vallees. Sun shining almost every day while we were there but as a result Plan Fontaine run back to La Tania (green) was really chopped up at the end of the day. Because of the low altitude its all artificial snow and might be a trial for beginners I'd guess. As others have noted its a very quiet spot in the evenings - so if you want some serious apres ski partying this definitely isn't for you. Ideal resort/location for a family on a budget.
Great resort for families, the apartments are right in centre and opposite the ski school for lessons. The apartments are clean and well looked after, defo worth upgrading to the class E apartment if you have a family of 4. The only negative is Crystal Ski every year I have bought ski passes from the rep and every year there has been issues, I would recommend buying from the ticket office which is just before the lift, I was in and out in 5 mins. All in all a great place to stay.|
Apartments been refurbished recently so lovely. Mixed reviews I see but I can only say my apartment was fine, block A 9th floor lovely views.||Size ok, decent kitchen, all you need, plenty heat, bathroom nice size and modern, loads storage too.||Only gripe was bedroom a little small and no wifi.||TV with bbc and itv so great.||Location very good, out ski room to lift only 2 mins ski down slope and ski back to door almost. Shops 5 mins away Sherpa ok for basics and bakery, and a few takeaways around too, plus a few bars. ||Ski room bit cold and damp so boots better in room, bit of a hassle but ok.||La Taiga superb food 5 mins walk.||Bus to Aquamotion pool complex easy and free, worth trip as 10 mins away open till late and for €30 lovely spa to visit.||Ski area superb, one of best in world defo, 600km, all linked well, and la Tania a good base I thought to get around, with two lifts to top Loze, from there right down to Meribel or left to Courcheval, easy.||La Tania nicest resort I think by miles in forest pretty and quiet.||Highly recommended.||Tip: avoid Courcheval for food as mega expensive and avoid Follies Douce Meribel as awful place. Ski down to little satellite villages at edges for cheaper food/lunch.||Enjoy !
