Avis
Recently changed ownership, this small bakery and pastry shop is trying to keep up with its history.
This is my family’s go-to bakery because we live near-by. Their baguette tradition is delicious. Their pastries are hit or miss, sometimes super fresh and sometimes they seem like they are a few days old. I get it’s hard to keep crunchy croissants and pain au chocolate in the humidity of the cote d’azur. What I can’t excuse is the nasty sour attitude of a few of the ladies that work there. I can’t help if I’m not French, but I’m always polite and speak french and still I get the sour face and attitude. Point in fact, today (November 2024 -off season) I bought a baguette and a few pastries and got the short, curt response, as if she is doing me a favor. A french person came in after me and she was all smiles and giggles. I’m trying to ignore the reputation of the french to etrangeres (foreigners) but they are doing nothing to help their cause. I might have to go to the bakery on Blvd Courbet (sp). -perhaps that’s what they are hoping for?
the bakery was sold to a new owner, sadly they changed the recipe of sandwiches and pain bagnat. after many years we have to find another bakery.
The staff in here are flat out rude. As mentioned before the food here isn’t always fresh and is a hit or miss. But i will simply not return solely based off the sour attitude of the staff. Please spend your money elsewhere.
Great option for grab & go. We got exactly what we needed for a long hike on the Antibes coastline. The quiches were great - and super fast to get a whole breakfast for a long day. Don’t expect « fine dining » - but that’s not what we were looking for anyhow!
We fell in love with this wonderful bakery, especially the pasteries and "tartes aux fruits". Un delice!
I was in Juan-Les-Pins September 18-22 and passed by this place a couple time and they always have a line! It’s worth a stop though. I came early one day and was served quickly. The lady was incredibly kind and patient as I did not speak French and she did not speak English. I ordered a club poulet, tartelette fraises des bois (I said the French word for raspberries on accident but she figured out what I meant, again - so patient!) , 2 croissants & it was all very reasonably priced. The tartelette was beyond delicious, the sandwich perfectly filling and the bread it was on was soft with a flaky crust. I tried to go back on my last day but the line was too long. Thank you for a memorable experience!
For over 45 years I have been buying fresh croissants and baguettes here in the summer.
