Great location of the hotel if you are looking to cycle. The Hotel itself has a cycling theme in terms of decorations, pictures, as well as offering a garage to keep the bikes. The cheaper rooms are incredibly small and the view is not great, but if you’re looking to be in the nature during the day, they will do. What we were particularly impressed of was the restaurant of the hotel. Absolute delicious dishes, loved the salmon as well as the fresh trout. Service was exemplary as well! Fully recommend the resto experience if you are in the area! Outside terrace is also a plus.
This hotel is well used by cyclists of all ages (Mamils - Middle aged men in lycra) - don't let it put you off. We had a most enjoyable stay at a very busy time (the Tour was passing the next day so most guests were there for the same reason as us). The staff were all very friendly and the food was superb. It is a Logis hotel with three pots so we knew it was going to be good. The restaurant was well decorated and many people were also served on the terrace. An excellent stay.
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights as part of a cycling group trip. The rooms are spacious, the hotel had garages setup for bikes with hooks on the ceiling and tools for maintenance work. ||||Breakfast has a lot of quality items (ham, cheese, bread, pastries, yogurts etc.) and excellent local homemade jams. Dinners were quality menus with local specialties featured. ||||The staff was attentive and took good care of us.
This hotel was perfect for an overnight stay on our drive from UK to Italy. Staff are just lovely. Rooms are simple but very clean as was the bathroom. Late check in is possible and large carpark. Breakfast was good too. We will stay again!
Arriving an evening in September on our motorbikes on top of a mountain, it started raining hard and in no time a fog came up that took away all visibility. Hotel l'hermitage and another hotel right next to it were both closed.|We drove down to Le Mesnil and found this nice hotel. We entered "dripping" and received a warm welcome. A very nice hotel, with an excellent kitchen ! This one goes on my list for a next trip in the Vosges !
We (a group of 6) spent a week here in July 2014 and it was fabulous.||Rooms were good, nothing super flash but comfortable and big enough (just, considering all our gear :-).||Food was excellent - 4 courses (the usual 3 plus cheese) and Monsieur is a great chef (not just a 'cook'). Also got an amuse bouche each night which were excellent. There seemed to be many more diners than residents each night, which is a good sign.||Wine list was extensive though I must confess we struggled to find what /we/ considered a really good Alsation Riesling (like Paul Blanc or even Hugel), though the white Burgundies and Bordeaux were popular with our party :-)||Madame was wonderful - occasional laundry was no problem, a real boon for cyclists like us. They also had some garages for storing bikes in which was excellent, plus a nice large covered area for assembling/disassembling bikes.||Staff were very good - friendly, helpful, attentive. No problems keeping our beers cold for the next day of Tour de France watching, even though they have a full bar.||Breakfasts were damn good too: croissant, bread, yoghurt, meusli, cheese, fruit, etc, etc.||Le Menil is a small, quiet town on a through road, so not particularly charming, but it's a good base for cycling and close to Le Thillot which is bigger (the Boulangerie/Patisserie on the main corner is fantastic :).||The others in our group went for swims in the nearby river each day though I didn't so can't comment other than that they kept going back to it was obviously pretty nice!
Average hotel with simple rooms. But with very good restaurant where we enjoyed our dinner. It is a Menü with different kind of dishes and different price level. They have also very large wine list with various and different wines from France.
Booked this hotel at the last minute for a spur of the moment weekend skiing. Stayed in a double room with a friend, we drove from brussels so arrived at 1am, the hotel was very accommodating giving us the code to the front door and leaving the key for us. ||Clean and modern, only 15 mins drive from La Bresse ski station.||The restaurant is excellent, had dinner there the saturday night, food was very good, they have a bible of wine and focus is on local produce. ||Will stay here for sure every time I come back to Les Vosges.
