Our third time at these apartments and would happily return there again.||Thierry and Laurence, the owners, are there to greet you on arrival and to show you the swimming pool and to take you to your apartment where you are shown around and everything is explained to you.||We had a sunny first floor apartment with a balcony which had an awning, table and chairs and a BBQ. So useful.||There was a good kitchen, very well equipped with fridge freezer, 4ring hob, microwave tand very clean.||The bedroom had a comfortable bed and good storage. The bathroom was excellent with a large walk-in shower and always plenty of hot water.||The swimming pool is really great, quite large and set in a lovely garden. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols and chairs. There is a very quiet atmosphere at the pool - very relaxing.||In fact the whole place is very quiet and peaceful and is very well maintained.||It is quite close to the centre of town which has a lovely beach, shops and a local market and,of course, restaurants and bars.||Les Flots has very good free WIFI and designated parking.||A great place to stay.
Superb stay. Little self contained room. Small, but perfect for us. Small enclosed yard. Ideal for our dog. Brilliant breakfast and bars and restaurants a ten minute walk away. Good parking. Very friendly.
Our party of four spent three days (two nights) at this modern group of apartments - reserving two apartments via booking.com for a short holiday-within-a-holiday (we were spending two weeks altogether in the Charente region). On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the proprietor, who remarked that they did not get many English visitors there, and apologised for her english - which was better than our french! The rooms were modern, fully equipped and spotlessly clean, with large fridge, halogen hotplate and combination microwave. We were given passes for the swimming pool and codes for the free wi-fi, maps of the area, and brochures for local attractions, together with helpful advice regarding walks, drives and dining in the area. Will stay longer next time we are in the region.
We had a small studio apartment which was modern and very clean with a decent bathroom. It was well equipped and had a balcony complete with BBQ which was great.||Les Flots is situated very close to the centre of St Palais (close enough to nip down for 'frites' while the steaks are bbqing!) and has free parking, free WiFi, and use of a laundry room.||There is also a fair-sized swimming pool - heated in winter and covered in bad weather.||Thierry and Lawrence (the owners) are very welcoming and friendly. Once a week they invite all the guests over to the pool area for a local aperitif - Pineau des Charentes - which is very nice.||We have stayed there twice and really enjoyed Les Flots and the whole area and I'm sure we will be back again.||They also have bigger apartments with either a balcony or a garden.||Good value for money.
The main part of the hotel was closed (no swimming facilities) and we stayed in an apartment over the road. It was a studio flat, very compact but fine for the two of us. St Palais sur Mer was very quiet with a capital V. Only one bar/restaurant was open in the evenings (Quimpers - a Breton crepe place; friendly, very reasonable and tasty food). We explored the beaches ten or so miles to the north (the cote savage), which we had almost to ourselves. The apartment is five minutes from the beach and in a quiet (that word again) residential area. For what we wanted, it was ideal. And the breakfast, delivered to the door at a time of your choosing in the morning, was substantial and good value.
OK breakfast lovely. Fresh croissant and bread with yoghurt and fruit and coffee. Apartment was cold as north facing. It had ceramic flooring. Smelt as though it had just undergone a major clean. Didn't see the pool so cannot comment. Just out of town but good coastal walks nearby.
Spent one night as a pit stop en route home to the UK, and have to say this little place was worth the money spent. 5 mins into Saint Palais by car. Not the most appealing spot (on the main road), nor is the property pretty from the outside, but very clean, and functional. Comfortable beds!! Nice owners, which makes all the difference. The little garden and pool also good. However, chaps beware: you have to wear short swimmers (no Bermudas; the reasons for which are completely unknown!!)|
We have been regular visitors to St Palais for the past 15 years and in recent years have stayed at Les Flots three times (in ground floor accommodation in the Helios annexe). The accommodation is well equipped, clean and comfortable. The ground floor apartments each have their own small private garden and patio area with sun loungers and patio furniture; and the swimming pool ( across the road in the main site) is very good. It is an easy stroll into the centre of St Palais where there are a number of good restaurants (especially if you like fish and seafood) and there are several very nice beaches nearby. The owners ( M & Mme Manganneau) are very friendly and helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend Les Flots to those seeking good comfortable accommodation, quietly located but not far from the bustle of the family resort of St Palais sur Mer. We love it!
