Interesting museum. We visited to escape the pouring rain and enjoyed our time. Ticket gets you access to three boats (weather vessel, fishing trawler, and tug) and a couple of indoor exhibits about the history of the harbour. If English speaking they give you a guidebook to carry round with you, but all other information is solely in French. The boats also involve a few tight climbs up steep stepladders so not sure I'd recommend to someone who'd struggle with steps and small spaces.

Interesting place to visit. Not much information in English, but possible to walk around the France ressearchbship, the tug, and part of the fishing boat. Some interesting displays in part two ( boats, fishing, canning etc.). Collection of dinghy exhibits (actual full size boats, not models!) in part 3.

We can highly recommend this interesting museum! It's educating and entertaing at the same time. You not only learn a lot about maritime history and the development in La Rochelle, we also visited various ships, inter alia the "France I", an old Meteo-vessel. One of the best museums we've been to.

What a nice experience. The museum is composed by some halls and 3 boats. I enjoyed a lot walking and explore the boats in a free way. All boats are great but the visit to the MNS France 1 is fantastic.

Honestly for non boat fans this is rather boring. But it is amazing for people who love boats. A little boring for the kids and really scary and creepy for the kids inside the France 1. It takes forever to go through the 3 boats especially France 1 where it feels like a maze and you can never get out. The other sections of the museum were a little blah too. Would recommend only for boat buffs. Lots of ship ladders to climb.

This is a must place to visit in La Rochelle. Kids went free and 8 euro per adult. We visited 3 ships and the additional museum rooms, it was a fantastic day out. We all loved it.

The best museum I've been to hands down the very best, only the best. I've never been to such a museum. It's probably the greatest museum in the world. I've actually spent a really nice time there and I had a lot of nice discoveries. So for me everything was great. The people were great and they also spoke English which makes it very nice

A nice museum with much to see outside. They have even 3 big ships for visitors. I got a german paper guide with a lot information. The description on the signs are all in French, but ok. I spend 3 hours, but you can make it in 2. The museum is not too big and for the whole familly. Sometimes climbing stairs can be tricky and steep.
