Fascinating piece of art. It was such an amazing place to visit. The kids had a great time climbing and exploring the site. The staff gave the kids a search sheet to find different objects and that helped to motivate them to explore. Even our 2 year old was engaged and happy to explore. The town itself is quite beautiful. We parked overnight in the rv lot and the sound of the river behind us was a soothing background to sleep.

A wonderful and unique place. The palace was built by a single man, a postman named Ferdinand Cheval. For 33 years, he carried stones to complete the structure he designed. The structure is full of incredible details and a mix of different styles. There's also a small museum dedicated to the palace and its creator, restrooms and a souvenir shop. In the local cemetery, you'll find the beautiful grave of postman, made using the same method as the palace. A large parking lot is located a few hundred meters from the attraction. I've been there three times already and will definitely return because I love this place. I definitely recommend it.

Very interesting surreal place to visit and explore. There are lots of intricate and whimsical details to look at and enjoy. It's really cool to see one person's dedication to building something that he dreamt about and put his life efforts into.

An extraordinary and inspiring place! Palais Idéal is a true masterpiece of creativity and dedication - every detail is fascinating and full of imagination. It’s unlike anything else and definitely worth a visit if you appreciate unique art and architecture.

Must visit. A site created by a single man, over 33 years, and considere by Picasso and other greats of the 20th century, as a master piece of Naif Art, and the only architectural one in the world.

This place contains a very interesting history. This building was built with the hands of one man. The structure consists of many details that you have to look carefully to see. A nice extra is that you can also climb the structure yourself. The man who made it created a kind of corridor system inside. The stairs and the hallway give you a good idea of ​​the amount of work involved. However, I was a bit disappointed by the size of it. I expected, or more so hoped, that it was big, but no. We drove 2 hours extra to see it, but I don’t think it was worth the extra time. It’s also quite expensive, €9,50 p.p. Not every employee can speak English!!
