Maison Berard is No1 abode in the beautiful little town of Cadiere d’Azur, its location, the picturesque main street, lined with bistros and galleries. Bedrooms are external to reception, ours in the building called ‘Le Peinters’, just a few metres away, but still on the main thoroughfare. Others overlook the pool, one street back. I loved our Superior Double Room, Monet, it was spacious and airy with 2 good sized windows overlooking the pretty street and surrounding countryside. The bed was very comfortable, the room quiet, lots of wardrobe space and hangers, plus ample electrical sockets. Additionally, a generous supply of bathroom products, excellent WiFi and decent air con. The negatives of our room (and given the quirk and geographical spread of the bedrooms, these may vary widely) included no proper shower (ours had a bath with hand held shower - not one you could fix up to shower underneath), a fridge that didn’t work, a kettle, but only paper cups, which were never replaced, and no spoons. Beware also that Le Peinters has quite a lot of stairs for those staying on its 3rd floor. The hotel was worn and tired in areas of our building, evidenced in scuffed paintwork and loose cables etc. However, I absolutely loved the hotel, mainly because it just felt so typically, fabulously French. I loved throwing open the shutters on a morning onto the charming street scene. Staff were superb, really friendly and helpful, with excellent English skills. La Cadiere town enjoys a delightfully warm, down to earth, authentic vibe, it’s a very easy place to like. I’m not sure the website makes it clear, but there is free, private, gated parking close by. The restaurant, Riva is an appealing, upscale affair with fantastic views, unfortunately, our young son didn’t find the menu appealing, so we didn’t get to try it.|A great stay, would return.

Booked for 5 nights stayed for 4. Probably too long for a village of this size. Staff were great, room was clean but hotel is lacking in amenities. No soap by the sink. Paper cups, no glasses. A bit higgledy-piggledy with lots of stairs. Restaurant very good

Wonderful venue. The hotel has a spa and it’s 15 minutes drive from the closest beach .

Lovely place with great staff. Ideal for the Beach or Circuit Paul Ricard or the perched villages in the area. Some great wine houses in the area as well. The chef has taken over from a Michelin 1 Star chef and is just as good. Fantastic views from the restaurant.

My daughter and I needed time away, This was the perfect hotel, in the most beautiful part of France, with the best facilities, and we loved it. La Cadiere was a simple but stunning village where everybody made us feel welcome. Our rooms in the hotel were clean, stylish, attractive and just what we needed. The pool was just gorgeous. The restaurant is simply wonderful.

Situated in a pretty little hilltop village near Le Castellet, this hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Very welcoming staff, marvelous food (the lamb is just beyond words ). Sommelier very knowledgeable. Mme Bernard herself very friendly and willing to give tips about her ficus which flourish well in the window boxes…. All in all a very agreeable stay here.

Incredibly beautiful venue with picturesque views over the surrounding countryside. The food was amazing and the service equally brilliant. If you are looking for a little slice of warm French hospitality look no further. I would highly recommend to anyone

Stayed for three nights. Our room was really so tiny. My husband could hardly walk around the bed and if we sat on the bed you could touch both walls either side. We shared our disappointment and asked if we could be moved but we’re told it was full that night and if we wanted to move we’d have to pay another £120 each night. No smiles! ||We had our first meal in bistro de Jeff. The decor is run down, plants uncared for and there is definitely no atmosphere. My husbands main course had a small caterpillar crawling on the plate and when we sent it back they removed the caterpillar and returned the plate!!! We were obviously put off the rest of the meal and eating there again. When we went to reception to complain and suggest they revise the bill slightly we were told that the chef had cooked a new plate which was totally untrue. They said they couldn’t revise the bill at all. We stayed and stood our ground and suggested that customer satisfaction should be paramount. Eventually the receptionist called the manager and they reduced the cost of the meal by €20. The staff are unsmiling, unhelpful and generally, as I now know, feel that making money is more important that happy customers wanting to return. Also they charge €35 to go into the spa!!!!!
