2 people, Caravan, awning and car for 8 weeks (june - August 2024)|||Disappointed Long-Time Visitors – Standards Have Dropped, Prices Have Soared||We have visited this campsite every year since 2015 and have made some wonderful memories. While the site was never the best and the facilities always needed updating, the unbeatable location kept us coming back. Unfortunately, since Huttopia took over, we will not be returning.||We are fortunate to have our own shower in the caravan, so we don’t rely on the campsite’s sanitary facilities. Given their poor condition—often outdated, dirty, and lacking maintenance, we consider ourselves lucky. The washing-up area is equally disappointing, with the lack of warm water, and a general lack of cleanliness.||The most shocking change, however, has been the price. In 2023, our eight-week stay cost 1,330 euros. After Huttopia took over in 2024, this jumped to over 1,900 euros. This year, we were quoted an astonishing 2,440 euros for just six weeks—two weeks less for a significantly higher price. This increase is simply unjustifiable.||We don’t use the pool due to poor maintenance, we don’t have children to take to the animations, and apart from renting a pitch and using electricity for our fridge-freezer, we’re not sure what we’re paying for.||Huttopia seems more focused on profit than on maintaining a quality experience. Last year, they allowed camping in non-designated areas, leading to overcrowding and facilities that couldn’t cope with the extra visitors. Showers ran cold, toilets were often dirty, and bins overflowed (see pictures). Some visitors even left rubbish bags hanging from trees when they left.||Sadly, this is no longer the peaceful and enjoyable site we once loved, so we have booked elsewhere in the region.
The camp sites for tent and caravan where we were stationed (place 411) was horrible. The terraine was full of ditches and bumps. Impossible to sit or lay flat. Camp sites where stached one next to the other, not the quality you would expect from Hutopia. Toilet. Leanness was mediocre. And cleaning started at 8:45 at the time wverybody wants to use the bathrooms. It should be done much earliere like 7:30 and a second time around 10:30.
We had a 3-bed mobile home that was well equipped and laid out. The pool was nice. The onsite food was OK. The grounds were relatively quiet and peaceful while we were there. Some of the other reviews mentioned mobile homes being dirty/filled with cobwebs. I do have to say that ours wasn't dirty per se, but there were definitely cobwebs, and it was obvious the blankets had not been washed since the previous guests. It's a bit disheartening considering the hygiene standards that *should* be in place right now. That was the biggest disappointment of the trip, but otherwise, we don't regret booking here for an inexpensive family holiday. It is possible to use the facilities at the Eurolac site, but to be honest, we weren't impressed. There are more pool areas, but they were overcrowded in comparison and repairs need to be made.
After 3 stays at this campsite in 2015, 16 and 17, I'm sorry to say we won't be going back. The on-site restaurant has gone from good to awful, the shop is literally 3 times more expensive than the local supermarket and there is no longer a curfew on noise or cars driving around the site after 10pm. On top of this, the staff were unable to give us the pitches we'd been promised in our booking, despite us paying extra and despite one of the pitches remaining empty for the duration of our stay. Half the toilets were closed with no explanation and those left open were not cleaned regularly. I'd recommend you look at one of the many other campsites in the area.
Nice campsite. Food was ok at "chez Robert" the lake nearby is a plus, and multiple play areas for kids. And the pool was nice too. Our mobile home was spacious and accomodating. Good location with just a short drive to Mimizan and the beach there.
Good thing it had a vacancy in high season. The reception was helpful. But toilets without a toilet seat or toilet paper should no longer exist in modern times - even on a campsite in France. WiFi only with surcharge and rather simple connection.
First time hiring a static equipped tent- all worked well, beds okay, kitchen appliances fine and good power sockets and lighting ( a real novelty to us expecting no power and to use the blue gas lantern again!)||The tent looked dirty however - it was very shaded and the woodland debris just continued inside and i think the brown-ness just got everywhere.||||We spent most nights chilling out playing cards, eating supper and spending time with our children - but the clubhouse would have a band most nights which went on - at full blast - until 23:00-23:20 every night. Then those who continued drinking would leave around 01:05 and sign/shout all the way back to their tents - you could set your watch by them.||The toilet block absolutely stunk. The pool was cold and uninspiring, as the boys only visited once.||The proximity to lovely Mimizan made it okay, but i would not recommend this place
Staff were not terribly friendly, and the site was crammed.|The facilities were poor. Toilets were really not good and showers need replaced. They need to upgrade all of the facilities and pack less people in.|The adjacent lake is great. It's huge but only 2-3 feet deep until well out so good for sitting around in!|There's very else little in the immediate area.|
