My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel du Palais Biarritz from April 25 to 26, and it was an exceptional experience from beginning to end.||This is not simply a hotel, but a truly iconic and historic property, combining elegance, luxury, and a unique atmosphere. Without doubt, it is one of the finest — if not the finest — hotels in Biarritz and the surrounding region.||The facilities are outstanding, the setting is magnificent, and the sense of history throughout the property makes the stay very special. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were remarkable: professional, attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming.||A very special thank you to Nassima and Christine for their exceptional kindness and hospitality. Their care made our stay even more memorable.||If there is one area with room for improvement, it would be the restaurant and overall food quality, which could be elevated further to fully match the extraordinary level of the hotel.||Overall, a superb and unforgettable stay. I would gladly return and highly recommend this legendary property.
Each time we stay here, we enjoy top service and luxury. The room and hotel facilities are always spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with fresh flowers, no matter what the season. The staff always welcome us with warm smiles and they make us feel like family. We enjoy the bar and salon for drinks or snacks, during the day or late after dinner. We enjoy knowing a lot of the staff by name after several visits, and we always look forward to the next visit. The handicap accessible rooms are well equipped for our needs and we appreciate that everything in the hotel is wheelchair accessible, including the beautiful gardens.
We had a fantastic stay at Hôtel du Palais in Biarritz. The setting right on the ocean is incredible, and the hotel really lives up to its “palace” name — beautiful, historic, and elegant without feeling overly formal.||What stood out most was the service. Everyone was warm and attentive, and Nesma at reception was especially wonderful — welcoming, helpful, and made everything feel effortless from the moment we arrived. The restaurant staff were also incredibly accommodating and made dining there easy and enjoyable.||Overall, a truly special hotel and one we’d absolutely come back to.
Overall: Service and amenities didn’t match price. Positives: pool and spa staff great; views incredible; grounds incredible; very nice breakfast Negatives: inconsistent housekeeping services (including not refilling cups or coffee); multiple billing errors during my stay (with one staff lamenting to me, while I was having a glass of wine in the bar, that he’s not sure what they would do about the departed guest who listed my room incorrectly on spa charges—as if this was my issue); ok Explorist status recognition; mediocre room amenities; and honestly the smallest but worst in my opinion: being directed to a site to pay 16€ to ship myself something I left behind after staying three nights at almost 1000€ a night. I see why this hotel lost its palace distinction and compared to other hotels at this price point (I’m thinking Carlton Cannes), it just doesn’t compare. I was excited to try this iconic hotel, but cannot say that I will return.
Lovely hotel with great customer service attitudes. We had a small issue with the bathroom, which was fixed immediately, and Nesma from customer service was most apologetic. The gift from the hotel was most appreciated. I will definitely return!
Our three nights at the Hotel du Palais were exceptional in every way. We cannot recommend this experience highly enough. If you can get a room with ocean view go for it! We have been to Biarritz on a number on a number of occasions but this was our first time in this hotel. It was throughly enjoyable from beginning to end.
All very good food wonderful. Room great but shower too small and no seat. At 80, I need to sit to wash my feet! The staff is a pleasure except when I booked. Or it was inefficient AI or some 12 year old who couldn’t conceive humans without smartphones
My first stay at the hotel, for three nights - such a beautiful and charming place. I would definitely stay again. Helpful and courteous staff, who spoke very clear French (even I could understand it). We had a huge room with a sea view. Breakfast in the rotunda was superb - a massive selection of food, in great surroundings. I loved the dramatic atmosphere of the cocktail lounge which also had a great selection of drinks. And there was a wonderful pool and spa area (although do bear in mind that almost all of the guests to the hamman are male-female couples and they pay no attention to the "male" and "female" sections. So make sure you keep your bathing costume on, unless you want to be embarrassed.)
