Hotel Stefanie is the oldest hotel in Vienna, having opened its door in 1600. Certainly the hotel is very proud of its long and rich history, with many historical items displayed inside the hotel. The facilities inside have been kept up to date with high standard. The breakfast was good and has many choices. The only pitfall was we were not able to book a dinner service in the restaurant, because there would be a wedding taking place that evening. Next time I am in Vienna, I will certainly consider staying in the hotel again.
Have stayed a number of times. Traditional in the best sense. Had a double room for solo use so spacious and quiet. Always like to have a mini-bar and fridge in room. Air conditioning worked very well. Comfortable beds. Excellent selection of foods at breakfast. Thought air conditioning in dining room was set at too low a temperature so it could be quite cold in the morning. Overall staff efficient and pleasant
I had a wonderful and peaceful night at this beautiful hotel in Vienna, Austria. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, making it the perfect place to unwind. The hotel itself is excellent, very clean, comfortable, and well organized. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional, always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was also very good, with a nice variety and fresh options to start the day perfectly. Thank you for such a lovely stay — I would definitely recommend this hotel!
The facility was clean and comfortable. The breakfast provided a wide variety of food. The staff was helpful but there was no concierge to help with finding dinner locations. This posed a problem because the restaurant was closed on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday). It would have helped to understand what the cost of a taxi would be from the rail station to the hotel ( I think we were taken advantage of by a taxi driver. Therefore we learned public transportation quickly.) The hotel is close to reliable Vienna public transportation.
We had a lovely city trip to Vienna. Hotel Stefanie is a welcoming hotel with friendly staff. You receive a warm welcome. There are still some vintage items on display in glass cases. The room was neat and well-cleaned. We’re not big fans of carpeted floors, but it was clean. There was a personal touch waiting for us on the bed upon arrival. The room was cleaned every day, and we received fresh towels. A great stay!
I paid about $900 for the double room with the courtyard only to arrive to a room in which the queen bed is practically pressed against the walls, leaving no space to get up on either side of the bed, and floors that creaked LOUDLY with every single step. The pictures on their website do not match the rooms at all whatsoever. Also the church rings their bells all day and night and, yes, you can hear it through the windows. You can also hear EVERYTHING in the halls. I requested an upgrade because I was not going to able to sleep in that room. I was moved to a superior double room for an additional 50 euros only to enter a room that ONCE AGAIN does not look like the photos. This is false advertising and should be illegal. The also don't tell you that they're renovating ANYWHERE on their website so be prepared for that. This is an outrageously expensive hotel that isn't locationally convenient or worth it. If you're expecting old world charm, look elsewhere because this hotel did not have any kind of charm. A lot of the reception staff is also very snobby despite how low quality the rooms are and it's just generally not worth it to stay here.
My husband and I have stayed at Hotel Stefanie three times now when visiting Vienna. It is a beautiful, friendly hotel and one of the oldest in the city. Don't let the age of the hotel scare you, it is very beautiful and modern. The staff is warm, friendly and helpful and will speak German with you if you wish to practice or they speak excellent English. Everyone always has a smile. The breakfast buffet is large and amazing and makes for a relaxing, nice start to the day. The hotel itself is located just on the other side of the Danube from the Old Town, Schwen Platz. In other words, it is very mentally located. And the tram line #2 is jut across the street from the hotel so it is easy to access via train from the airport to the main train station, then take a metro to Schwen Platz followed by the tram for one stop. Or, the hotel offers a car / taxi service to and from the airport. Highly recommend.
My first time in Vienna and needed it to be a great visit. Stephani is placed 7 minuts walk to the city center, ubahn. 2 minuts to a trambus. The hotel is oldfashioned and very cosy. The staff is helpful and always available. The breakfast offers everything and its fresh and well made. The rooms are fine and cleaning is perfect.
