Staying at Château de Dissay, The Originals Collection was a huge mistake and easily one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. After hours of travel, we arrived only to be forced to carry heavy luggage up three floors with no elevator and zero help. The restaurant was closed, there was no food available, and we were in the middle of nowhere. They offered leftover breakfast and charged 40 euros for it. The room had multiple issues: no hot water, a broken TV, and even basic items like toothpaste were unavailable. Then came the real shock: we were told to leave the hotel the next day due to “water issues.” In reality, the hotel had been banned by the government due to water contamination problems, yet they were still irresponsibly accepting guests. We had planned our vacation around this hotel and its spa. When we objected, we were told to either leave or “go home.” We didn’t have a car. The alternative hotel was 30 minutes away and cost us 100 euros by taxi — which the hotel refused to arrange or help with. The manager refused to speak to us and was overheard saying, “If they don’t want to go, to hell with it.” When I finally confronted him, his response was: “I didn’t have a good experience either.” Problems happen. Rudeness, arrogance, dishonesty, and total lack of responsibility from management are unacceptable. I have never experienced such disrespectful behavior in any hotel before. Avoid this place if you value your time, money, and dignity.

Upon arriving on their square was a big party. Looked very nice, the chateau itself was spectacular. At the reception we asked to reserve for the restaurant, not possible. We asked were to eat (5 km away....., after driving 800 km....). So next question the bar? Not available for guests also due to big party. Last but not least,... the Spa.... same answer. We booked via Booking.com. NOBODY told me that the restaurant, bar and spa were closed. I asked my money back..... NO, we can't do that. You paid, your problem. We left and booked another Chateau nearby (big fun btw). Now still struggling to get my money back from either the Chateau or Booking. The manager Mr Christophe Bouvier asked me to stop sending emails.... He is the opposite of a responsible worker in the hospitality industry. Read all other reviews. DON'T GO THERE.

Average place for special events. The food was underwhelming, not particularly tasty. The red wine was gross, undrinkable basic table wine. The acoustic of the rooms is so-so, it can get quite loud. The one highlight was the visit of the wonderfully decorated chapel. However, the english translator spoke rather poor English, and there were also typos in the printed menu which lacked professionalism. There is one primary washroom for an entire gala room, so there tends to be a queue. The place has strong potential given is history but needs a few tweaks.

We booked a nice bright room via booking.com (like shown in the pictures) and received a dark room under the roof which I had to find on my own. I gently asked for a superior room as we reserved. Via booking.com I could see that other rooms were available. The concierge told me they we booked out and if I don’t like the room, I should leave the hotel. He not even tried to find a solution and was incredible rude. I only can recommend to avoid this hotel.

We booked this hotel on our way home. Upon arriving we couldn't reserve for the restaurant, not for the bar and not for the spa. All reserverd for a large group. We paid through booking, we were not given any notice of this. Totally not acceptable for a 5 star hotel. This is not the way to treat customers. I have thought a long time to write this review but after many very bad discussions with the hotel to get my money back this is what it is. I left the hotel without staying there while I paid the whole sum.

Newly settled in the region, my wife and I were looking for a romantic and exotic place, without the children, to spend an exceptional moment of love. When we arrived in Dissay, time seemed to stand still once we passed through the gates of the Château de Dissay, transporting us from the 21st century to the 15th century. However, make no mistake, the establishment has preserved the charm of the 15th century while offering rooms with refined decoration, elegantly combining the charm of the old with modernity. Upon our arrival, we were warmly and professionally welcomed by Carole, the Cinderella of the place.|Upon waking, after spending a night in a five-star-worthy bed, what a delight it was to discover a breathtaking view of the splendid property. A true haven of peace that reflects the refinement of our hosts. The whole experience shows that beauty is not where you expect it to be, but that this place has the gift of surprising and seducing us simultaneously.|The gourmet restaurant, for its part, deserves praise. We thank the chef as well as the warm and professional teams for their attentiveness. The cuisine, of great finesse, offers a menu and dishes worthy of a starred establishment. The dishes highlight homemade products, offering unique aromas and instinctive inspirations evoking flavors from elsewhere. I particularly recommend the desserts, not only for their exquisite taste but also for their presentation, worthy of a masterpiece painting.|And if you are as lucky as we were, you will meet the owner of the place, a man who, although he does not have a title, certainly has the demeanor of a prince and a king.|Our congratulations to our hosts.|Natacha and Laurent HOUGUENADE.

We had an unforgettable Christmas holiday at Château de Dissay. Perfectly located near Poitiers and just 10 minutes from Futuroscope, the château offers spacious rooms with comfortable beds. The staff was outstanding—warm, attentive, and truly kid-friendly, with a flexible children’s menu and great attention to detail for all guests. The pool and spa were fantastic, and the massages were top-notch—a perfect way to relax for the whole family. The food was exceptional, with two dining options: a Michelin-worthy gastronomic menu with an excellent wine list and a bistro menu offering equally delicious dishes. Highly recommended for a relaxing and luxurious family getaway!

We didn’t stay at the hotel or visit the Spa but ate in the restaurant which I have done before. The lunch menu was very odd and neither main courses sounded very appealing and indeed were not appealing when they arrived. Mine was some kind of croquette supposedly of pork but could have been anything. The pea puree accompaniment was OK. The desert was ok but the startes not up to much either
