This family owned hotel just misses out on getting it totally right. The position of the property is magnificent and the view from the hotel bar and restaurants heavenly. Yet for elderly guests the walk down to the beach and beachside restaurant is demanding.|They appears to have envisaged a lift but failed to install it. There is a golf car service but it’s still quite a climb. The service is professional but there doesn’t appear to be a manager or host, just a host of young trainees for the season from Hôtel school who need to be encouraged to greet the guests with a smile. The restaurant is hugely expensive and pretty average. Catch of the day was 200 euros (1.2 kilo fish) and the chicken Caesar was raw with the skin on (not the breast we expected). The lobster roll didn’t appear to have any lobster in it and was burnt. With just a little attention to detail, this place could wonderful. There is a magnificent beach with great bathing but no facilities by the beach other than beds. The villa comes without any daily service which after 4 days gets a bit grubby.

Nice views and good food at the restaurant. The private beach is a nice touch. I love all the pools and how everything is so close to the center of the hotel. On the downside, the showers are somewhat unfunctional as they are more beautiful than effective. The rain fall is a mix of cold and hot coming out of individual spigots, and there is no shower door, the steam and some of the water just flows into your room. The bed is extremely comfortable and the linens are of the highest quality. The towels are big and fluffy and they give you plenty of them.

The hotel is beautiful, with a lovely beach and great food. The Michelin-starred restaurant is amazing — honestly one of my favorites so far from the 22 I’ve tried! But there were a few downsides. First, the rooms are very small, and both the toilet and the shower had problems. It took about 5–10 minutes to get warm water, which is not acceptable for this price range. Second, our room had a beautiful view, but it was just above the restaurant. We could hear them cleaning and moving tables late at night and again early in the morning (around 7 a.m.). It was very disturbing and woke us up several times. Third, there are very few sunbeds, and you have to pay and book them in advance. When we arrived, everything was already booked for the next five days — so we had no choice. One day, we saw five sunbeds stay empty from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and only after asking were we told the guests never showed up. That felt like such a waste. The staff is very friendly, and everything is clean — but for the price, some important things really need to be improved.

We enjoyed our stay a lot! We received a room upgrade which was a nice touch. Location, the views and hotel territory are truly beautiful. Spa area is nice and can be used anytime during the day. Restaurant experience with marine menu was amazing! Service was excellent, all questions and requests we had were resolved quickly. We were a little worried about the noise mentioned here in the reviews but did not hear anything disturbing even though we were located above breakfast area.

There is so much to say about this getaway location but let’s start with the people and the view; both are equally spectacular. The people, like Ines, Mari, Sam and Lucee and “G-G” make the place magical with their kindness, graciousness, and levity, all while serving their guests as though they were family. Now for the view. In one simple word: “Wow.” It’s peaceful, unpolluted with commercial signs and fast food traps like in the States. Next comes the food. Again, simply stunning, in both flavors and presentation. We enjoyed this location so much we stayed there TWICE! First was with a BACKROADS adventure group (hiking, biking, kayaking). Second time was to “just relax.” All in all, and if you’re ever looking for a “little slice of heaven on earth” consider a stay at Hotel Marinca & Spa. Oh, speaking of which the (1) massage (2) mani/pedi and (3) facial treatments are all 5-Star experiences.

We stayed at Hotel Marinca and spa for six nights recently. This is a beautiful resort with amazing views. The housekeeping staff is constantly cleaning, the entire resort is very clean. We had an amazing time and the staff is beyond friendly. We had breakfast almost every morning, which is quite good for the price. on a few days of our trip we would go drive around exploring different beaches. The front desk staff would let us borrow towels and any other items we might need for exploring. Please note, there are a lot of stairs everywhere and you have to be mindful of where you are stepping. We had dinner a few times at the restaurant on the beach, which was quite good. Also, we ate lunch a few times on the beach on our beach beds. The staff was extremely attentive at all times and made sure we had everything that we needed to be happy. We also were able to hire the boat to take us around to some nearby beaches. We had a great time! Thank you!

We visited with an infant and a child and stayed in the family suite for a week. ||The hotel was an hour away from Figari Airport where we landed and 3.5 hours to Bastia Airport where we departed from. The roads were in good condition and the long drives were not as bad as I had imagined. ||The family suite was beautifully decorated and spacious enough for a family of four. It was very clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the extra large balcony overlooking the ocean. The bathroom was large enough with a double vanity, a walk-in shower, a tub and a separate toilet area. They provided Clarins toiletries and Le Petit Prince kids toiletries and everything was replenished daily except for conditioner and body lotion for some reason. But they were happy to provide when asked. There was a mini bar in the room and glass water bottles were provided per day. Housekeeping was efficient and there was an evening turn down service as well. We loved everything about the room except the AC and venting were weak for a 5 star property. ||The grounds and facilities are meticulously maintained and well taken care of. The reception and concierge were professional and helpful. We enjoyed the beautiful views from every level of the property as it is laid out on a hill. ||The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and the service was prompt and efficient. ||We tried both restaurants, and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Restaurant La Paillote had more of a relaxed vibe with an excellent view of the ocean. The food was amazing. We particularly enjoyed all the pasta dishes including ravioli and spaghetti. We enjoyed the molecular cuisine served at Restaurant La Verriere. The presentation and attention to details were mind blowing. We had our child with us and the staff were very kind to let him enjoy his moment at the kitchen as well. ||The hotel beach is very private and absolutely stunning. The blue water and the golden sand were just beautiful. We

**Hotel Marinca and Spa** A nice hotel with a luxurious design. Dog friendly. The staff were generally nice, and the service level was good. The breakfast was excellent. My only comment is that they could improve their plant based latte preparation; they simply added cold oat milk to the coffee without frothing it, as they did not have a steamer or other equipment for that purpose. The beach is small but very private. We booked sunbeds for our entire stay, which was very practical, although the beach has small pebbles rather than sand. The food at the beach restaurant, La Paillote, was good. The other two restaurants, La Verrière and the particularly cozy La Table du Moulin, were decent as well (though be sure to bring anti-mosquito spray). The rooms are modern and well-equipped; however, be prepared for their tiny size. Larger guests might find themselves touching the walls with their shoulders when using the toilet. The rooms do have nice terraces with beautiful views. The bar is cozy and offers a stunning view. The spa is small but very nice and cozy. They limit the number of guests to prevent overcrowding, so it's best to reserve your time in advance. However, be prepared for many stairs throughout the hotel; this would not be convenient for elderly or disabled guests. The hotel is quiet and romantic. You definitely need a car to access the city and other nearby attractions.
