Our kids have been skiing with ESF for about five years, but this was our first time here in Briançon. We had a great experience — the trainers were friendly, patient, and professional, and our children always felt supported and motivated. With four kids, good organization and communication really matter, and the team here made everything smooth and enjoyable. It’s always a pleasure skiing in France, and ESF Briançon made this trip another fantastic memory for our family. Highly recommended!

Margaux was such an amazing instructor got us skiing in 2 days of being a beginner, so friendly and smiley so helpful and understanding when we didn’t get something. Couldn’t of asked for anyone better to teach us we had her for the whole week, and we feel so confident and comfortable to do the slopes by ourselves, would recommend her for even improving on things you already know. If we come back to brainçon we would pay to just get her to come skiing with us on an adventure as that’s how much we enjoyed learning and skiing with her. 100/10 :)

Amazing instruction. Really friendly , adaptive and flexible, excellent focus on technique, we felt safe but stretched and would highly recommend them. Pilou was incredible and went the extra mile to support us as a family.

Thank you ‘Max’ for a great week in Ski School. I loved exploring the mountain, great tuition, observation and feedback sessions, developing confidence and skills over the week in a relaxed and fun environment. Hope to be back in the future 🙏🎉

In short: -Do not book group lessons here if you don't speak French -Do not book a 6 day course (you will get 2 introduction days) -The level description on the website does not match the lessons. We booked a 6 day group course here (class 1* level). The fist day was fine, a bit of an 'introduction day' (big multilevel group which was split up in 2 groups halfway; I was in the beginners group which was totally fine), but we went all the way up the slopes to the skiing area there, and we had very nice teachers who were really trying to help a diverse group and give us confidence. However, the second day a lot more students arrived (who booked 5 day courses?), and we had another introduction day; this time on the baby slopes halfway up. This meant a lot of waiting for the skilift and not a lot of skiing, and more sorting in groups. This was a disappointment, but sometimes back to basics is fine, if the instructor helps you to get those basics right. The instructor did no such thing: he was talking to the other instructors and not giving us any tips or instructions. It felt like a waisted morning. The third day we decided to give it another chance: we were going all the way up again, and we got a bit more instructions. However, we noticed that the instructions in French were a lot longer then those in English ("we are going down the slopes, try to put your ski's parallel"), and they were all class 2* level it seemed. I told the instructor I was insecure, but I got no real reaction. I realise it is a group lesson, but on the first day we also got some personal tips in English, and now almost nothing. This did not feel welcoming at all; we were the only 2 English speaking students in the group, but still: we booked the English course.. On day four the English explanations stopped altogether: another student would translate the French instructions for us, the teacher did not translate his instructions anymore. This is when I dropped out. I felt very unwelcome/unsupporte

Unfortunately, not a good experience with the ESF ski school. We indicated that we speak English, the teacher's instructions were very extensive in French and we were sporadically given only 1 sentence of explanation in English. The rest of the instructions we got from other students. The teacher did not watch how we were skiing, and did not give us personal feedback. The first day of our 6 day ski course was with a different teacher. That was an excellent lesson, but the 2nd day we didn't get beyond the baby slope. The teacher didn't even see us skiing. For that reason, we quit the course after 4 days. We ended up learning more from just trying it ourselves, than from the ski school. I stated this by email to ESF and at the ticket office, I received a mediocre response from the organization, in which they did not respond to the content but brushed me off with a standard reply. Too bad!

My son and I just had our first skiing holiday and we're taught by ESF. The members of staff we dealt with were simply wonderful and helped us get to grips with skiing. Please extend our thanks and gratitude to Martial and Manu, or instructors, who were both friendly, patient and knowledgeable. We stopped for lunch on Thursday and shared bread, cheese and wine on the mountain queen or instructors and it is a memory I will keep for a long time.
