This hotel was an absolute sanctuary. I needed a place to fully rest and relax and this little hotel was the perfect place. Nathalie snd Pierre were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much bother. They had exceptional recommendations of places to go. Location was perfect 2 minutes to the beach and 15 mins walk into the old town. I cant wait to come back and visit
Nathalie and Pierre (& Tya) have truly created a magical piece of paradise with La Jabotte! Every attention to detail was impeccable from the delicious breakfasts to the charming rooms. We cannot wait to return to this most special please in Antibes! The location is the perfect 15 min stroll along the beach to the old town antibes and they are so helpful with recommendations and ensuring your trip is perfection!
What a gem! Just finished a 5-day holiday here and have been blown away by the super friendly hosts and the cute setting. This is not an impersonal luxury hotel , this is a small intimate home-from-home (6 rooms in total) where you can relax and wind down. The rooms are small but comfortable and well designed. The bed was comfortable and everything is spotless. The rooms are all facing on to the little courtyard, but you have your own small seating area as well as joint seating in the middle. It’s full of greenery and quirky decorations that makes you smile. We had breakfast here every morning and loved the fresh bread and nice coffee. The hotel is very close to the beach and we were provided with beach towels for when we went for a swim. As the sea at this time of year is a bit cool, we appreciated returning to the hotel for a dip in the pool (30 degrees) There is a super friendly dog on site that loved coming up to us for cuddles and play. An old cat is also around making her presence known and forever finding new places to sleep. I can’t stress enough how well we were looked after by our hosts. Nothing was an issue, they helped with restaurant bookings and checked details for trips. They drove our father to the top of the hill so he didn’t have to walk too far, and they cooked us a light meal one evening when we wanted to relax instead of going out for dinner. All in all the most wonderful place I have ever stayed at ( and one of the few I have left a review for) I hope to come back another year.
Just spent a week at la Jabotte, and it was magical! The lush Mediterranean courtyard was a highlight for me as I like to curl up with a good book and a coffee. A collection of comfortable seating arrangements -- sofas, loungers, easy chairs, little tables -- allows for a place to sit in the shade or the sun as you might wish. Perfectly situated half a block from the beach, and a 10-15 min walk to the city center, the courtyard at la Jabotte is a heavenly little oasis of greenery and birdsong. What truly sets the hotel apart from other places, though, is the warm and generous hosts and owners, Nathalie and Pierrre. They anticipated our every need, helping set up outings and dinners, and generally being available for any questions. We became besties with Tya the resident dog, who showed up for morning cuddles and to play a round of tug-of war with my 93 year old dad each day. He couldn't have been more delighted! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Antibes, it was perfect. Massive thanks to Nathalie and Pierre for making this vacation so special!
While I agree with the reviews applauding the laid back vibe, and I enjoyed chatting with Nathalie, etc., it remains that this is a two star motel with incredibly small bathrooms the size of which are below what you find in a decent motorhome, and the beds and bedding are not comfortable. The shower does not have a proper shower head and is at most 28 inches square, and requires squeezing in sideways to enter. Anyone with physical issues or girth will not fit, you cannot bend over, and the hand held shower hose is like taking a navy shower. We stayed in their largest room on the second floor, which was pleasant but tight. You have to shimmy sideways around the bed, but there is a small sitting room as well. I can't imagine how tight and claustrophobic the other rooms must be. We have been taking a slow driving tour of France and now Italy, following the Rick Steves guide, and all the hotels before and after have been superb to very good. Coming to La Jabotte was like enjoying weeks of nice full service meals and then experiencing a hot dog stand. No doubt it's a nice hot dog stand with all the usual attitudes that come with it, but you may not want hot dogs in the French Riviera. Short stroll to a crowded public beach looking out at the billionaire's yachts, knowing their staff has larger rooms, isn't what I wanted. Also, they have a full prepayment with no refund policy so you can't leave once there. Only place we've ever experienced with that, and I can see why. Many would leave after the first night. They also failed to honor the included breakfast advertised in the guidebook, and never said anything about it until a surprise bill as we were leaving. Very pricey for a modest breakfast and not at all comparable to the sumptuous breakfasts at all the other hotels. The surprise bill and all their house rules are not guest friendly. We stayed at another hotel run by a couple who really enjoyed life and hosting guests. They hosted an evening wine and
I travel to the Antibes area about 10 times a year on business and the La Jabotte is my first choice hotel in the area. It is the perfect place to unwind and switch off after a stressful day of meetings. Nathalie and Pierre are the ideal hosts, making sure that your stay is comfortable and peaceful. Location is ideal tucked away in a side street for peace and quiet, but still only 2 minutes walk from a beautiful sandy beach and 15 mins walk from Antibes old town, with its great choice of restaurants. If you're renting a car, choose the smallest you can as the streets around here are narrow and parking can be limited, otherwise just turn and relax!
Oh my, how to put into words how this wonderful little piece of heaven stole our hearts and absolutely made our holiday! Places like La Jabotte are rare and beautiful... it is a paradise to enjoy and make the most of. I celebrated my 50th birthday here and chose it because I wanted something special, without any huge flashiness or show. I like the simple things in life done well... Quality over quantity. At the very heart of the whole La Jabotte experience are Nathalie, Pierre and Tya the dog, and not forgetting the gorgeous cat! They were the warmest, kindest and friendliest of hosts who care about their guests and want them to have the most relaxed, carefree and easy time possible. It's hard to express how good they are at what they do and we sincerely thank them for what they offer at La Jabotte. The daily little chats with Nathalie and Pierre were highlights of our stay and their kindness will stay with us. Rooms are beautifully decorated with such careful thought to the details. We had a room with a balcony and small view of the sea, as well as a lovely sitting room with lots of gorgeous furnishings in sumptuous colours and materials to enjoy. I loved little things like the star anise handwash and the olive shower gel, wonderful sensory details to enjoy. Breakfast each morning was a magical experience with care taken and the most delicious of French breakfasts served. Again the details - the blueberry jam, the fig conserve and the fresh croissants. Not forgetting the gentle tones of the birds and the breeze that surround you in the garden. The garden is a visual delight, decorated with so many colourful plants and ornaments... it both relaxes you and makes you excited to start your day. As if all of the above wasn't enough... there are more thoughtful details like the honesty bar - we would come in from an evening in Antibes or Juan-Les-Pins and be able to pour ourselves a lovely glass of wine or a cool beer and enjoy them in the privacy of our r
Simply the friendliest place I have ever stayed in. Nathalie and Pierre are the most welcoming hosts you could ever wish for. The rooms are small but beautifully done. Every aspect of the hotel is undertaken with thoughtfulness and care. The is a true home from home. The breakfast is great. The courtyard beautiful. We loved the menagerie of animals (a super well behaved dog, cats and even a friendly seagull pair). The hotel is super near the beach and a short 15 minute walk into old Nice itself. Nathalie is always there with helpful advice and input. The pool is “indoors” but has a lovely feel because it is inside the original walled buildings and has windows to the outside - and the water is super warm! We cannot recommend this place more highly. If you want to escape the homogenised world of corporate hotels or the soulless key code rooms with no human contact - this is the place for you. We cannot wait to return.
