AUTOCONST BRAS ASSE LE VIEUX

A return to the past.. As young student architecture I passed a few weeks (1984) in Vieux-Bras d'Asse to help - as good as possible - to construct and restore the ancien village.. I remember the great view from the site, the earlier hours we started in the morning before the summerheat got to high, the ambience with all the team in the evening inside the ancient church or the game of "jeux de boules" downtown at the local 'bistrot' . The project got a lot of difficulties over the years, ambitions and enthousiasm declined and only a small part of the original plans are realised.. Still - after 38yrs - I am kind of proud that I helped mason some sections of the walls and it remains a great memory of an ending era before computers, internet, cellphones and social media started to rule the world :) Revisited in 2004
