SCI MERCURE

The hotel is well located in the city centre and just a few meters from the little city harbour. Everything is easy to reach by feed from the hotel and around there are a lot of parking spots. The hotel team was friendly at the check-in and our rooms were directly available. The rooms are very clean, well designed with a great bathroom. After a quiet night you can enjoy a very good breakfast buffet with a nice selection of dishes. The checkout was fast and again very friendly! As I forget something in my room which I remarked once we left the city, I must say the reception team did a great job and they managed to find a solution with our bus driver to get my wallet back! A huge thank you to the whole team!

Mercure is Mercure, location is perfect, the service is excellent and the space is always enough. In special in this stay the reception guy Yussef was really kind and friendly, I just would like gave my super thanks for him and for the Mercuri have so nice prepared his staff to do our stay even better.

Room very dark, poor lighting, badly designed, no storage. Space wasted where a shelf or hooks would be useful. Nowhere to hang a towel to dry in the bathroom. On arrival reported a faulty light, wasn't repaired. Too dark to read. Power failure from 5pm to about 10pm and again, programmed, the next night from 5pm. No particular help for guests during these outages, no temporary lighting or free drinks or anything. Breakfast adequate, wouldn't rave about it. Plastic sheet on the bed, horribly hot and sweaty. Haven't suffered one of these for years.

Practical customer oriented staff. Lovely rooms where you’ll sleep well. Big screen TVs and lots of hot water. It’s great value!

Third time at this hotel. First couple of times the stay was very pleasant. This time we decided to stay for longer to explore the area. A bit disappointed. We paid the rate for three nights. On arrival the room was perfect was presentable but no shampoo or body lotion. I thought they would notice the next morning. The shampoo and body lotion were still empty. The mini bar with complimentary soft drinks was half the day before. |The next day on return it was a basic clean. No shampoo or lotion and a tin of 309ml of water left in the fridge and no tea!!!!

The lobby is very modern and pleasant. All the staff, from the front desk agents, to the breakfast staff to housekeeping was very friendly and professional. Especially at the front desk the staff is very polite and friendly and speak an excellent English. The location of the hotel is perfect, in walking distance to both abbeys and the Caen castle, as well to many restaurants, bars and even a supermarket. I can only recommend it.

Stayed 2 nights in Caen at Hôtel Mercure Caen Centre Port de Plaisance and it was excellent- especially the larger- for France- rooms, massive breakfast, and great central location on the canal downtown.

Lovely modern hotel by the marina (ideal if you want outdoor space) and within easy walking distance of the centre of Caen, about 15 minutes walk from the train station. |Our Privilege room was clean, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The decor had a lovely nautical feel. Lovely clean walk-in shower, lush honey based shower gel, hair conditioner, handwash and body lotion in line with the Privilege room. Separate toilet. |Air conditioning was a tad noisy on the lowest setting, but very efficient at cooling the room. As the courtyard facing room was quiet, we left the window open after the first night to keep cool.|Nice compact gym in the basement. Lovely spacious lobby with sofas and books. |For the eco friendly guests there are recycling bins and cold water fountain in the lobby too. Plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and mini-supermarkets nearby. Front of house and bar staff friendly and helpful too. Overall, an excellent hotel.
