Our stay at the hotel was something of a mixed experience, but overall it was still an enjoyable start to our honeymoon.|The hotel grounds are absolutely beautiful and create a very calm, relaxing atmosphere. The swimming pool area is particularly lovely and very well designed, making it a pleasant place to spend time. We stayed in a Superior Suite and the bathroom was excellent, spacious, modern, and very well presented.|Unfortunately, the bed in the suite did not match the standard of the rest of the room. It appeared either very old or of poor quality. The mattress was sagging and lumpy, and the bed frame made loud creaking noises with even the smallest movement, which made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. The pillows were also quite poor. Similarly, the sofa in the living area seemed either worn out or broken. it was uncomfortable and made noise whenever it was used.|Another issue we experienced was with the front door to our suite, which did not lock properly. It appeared that the door had dropped slightly from its hinge, preventing it from locking. To feel safe overnight, we placed our suitcase in front of the door.|The technology in the room was somewhat inconsistent. The television in the living area did not allow us to use Chromecast, whereas the television in the bedroom worked perfectly.|Despite these issues, I would still consider staying here again because many other aspects of the stay were very positive. We ordered room service and were slightly disappointed to find that we had to collect the food ourselves. Considering there is a €15 delivery charge, it would be reasonable to expect the food to be delivered to the room. The room service menu is also fairly limited. That said, the food itself was absolutely delicious. We ordered the mixed board, a cheese pizza, a brownie, and a caramel crème, and everything tasted excellent.|The pool area is very nicely decorated and provides a relaxing environment. However, cleanliness could be improved. While the
Very disappointing experience in a so-called four-star hotel. The welcome was poor, with the feeling of bothering the front desk staff, who were not welcoming at all. There were no bathrobes in the room despite two requests made at reception. The food was overly salty, and the wine was served at room temperature even though it should have been served chilled. Our remarks were met with no reaction from the waitstaff. The spa reception was disastrous, and it was impossible to relax due to the presence of many young children, despite the website stating that there are specific time slots for children — which was not respected. While cleanliness was acceptable and the location is pleasant due to its proximity to the Château de Chantilly, this establishment absolutely does not deserve a four-star rating. The prices are too high regarding the level of services that we saw for a 4 stars. More like a 2 stars to be honest. We visited as part of a site inspection for a future corporate seminar for 150 employees, and it is safe to say that we will not be choosing this venue
We had a nice experience at Le Grand Pavillon Chantilly, it was for a brunch+ spa day. The brunch was exceptional the food was very good. There wasn’t a huge variety of options, but everything that was offered was of great quality and very tasty. The spa itself is relaxing and pleasant. It is quite minimal and does not include many facilities, but if it’s not crowded you can really enjoy the calm atmosphere and feel connected to nature. As for the massage, it was good overall. The therapists were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable throughout the treatment. We also appreciated the thoughtful touch of being offered tea and small treats after the massage. The team knew we were celebrating my husband’s birthday, and they kindly left a small gift for him in the room, which was a lovely gesture. One small point for improvement would be the massage rooms, which are quite basic and lack a real spa ambiance. And maybe the should tell the spa receptionist to be more smiley :) Overall, it was a good and relaxing experience. For the price it can be improved
We had a pleasant family stay at Le Grand Pavillon Chantilly. While the overall experience was good, it wasn't particularly amazing, but it was a solid choice for a relaxing weekend. The highlight was definitely the Spa. I highly recommend the body relaxation massage and the facial treatment; both were very professional and relaxing. The breakfast offered a rich selection of food, though the quality was standard and didn't quite stand out.Overall, it is a reliable and calm place for a getaway, especially if you are looking for quality spa treatments.
4 stars - on paper. Aims to host masses but unable to fulfill its basic promises. For around €250 a night you can get less stars but a much better experience elsewhere. It presents itself online as a romantic French chateau but once your’re past the long driveway and gate it’s all Disneyland with the crowds & pricing whilst the offerings promised on the website are misleading. Room was OK (zero atmosphere) but required maintenance here and there. The swimming pool requires a reservation for a 2 hour slot (!), so you may not be swimming at all unless you want to swim during dinner time for example. O - and no kids under 12 allowed in the pool which we weren’t told at reception and found out once there in our swimsuits. The only restaurant on the premises by far does not accommodate the number of guests this hotel houses at even a 40% occupancy rate. It sits on an extensive piece of land, but don’t expect any lush gardens - it’s all built up with lowrise modern buildings housing the 215 (!) rooms. We left the same day without being able to swim or eat. We received our money back, the staff seemed embarrassed by the poor deal they are obliged to provide guests.
The food was tasty and the swimming pool itself was good, but unfortunately the service was very poor. On the first day we arrived, the reception staff told us that every visit to the spa had to be booked in advance and that there were no available slots until January 1st. We arrived on December 30th with a child who absolutely loves swimming, so this was very disappointing for us. Later, when I personally went to the spa, I was told that there actually were available slots, but families with children are only allowed during specific hours, which was never clearly explained to us at check-in. The same issue applied to the restaurant. During the holiday period (and apparently in general), the restaurant also needs to be booked in advance. We were not informed about this, and as a result, on January 1st we were unable to get a table. Our child ended up eating McDonald’s, which was very frustrating while staying at a hotel like this. I also ordered room service (a pizza and a salad), but only the pizza was delivered. On top of that, there is an additional €15 charge for room service, which we were not informed about in advance. In addition, when we tried calling reception from our mobile phones, most of the time no one answered. In several cases, the call was redirected to a different hotel located in Annecy, which was both confusing and frustrating. We were a group of six people staying in three rooms, and no one was satisfied with the experience. In one room the air conditioning did not work, in another room the coffee machine was broken. Our room was generally good, but it was clearly unfinished — parts of it were not properly painted. Overall, the facilities have potential, but the lack of organization, poor communication, and service issues seriously affected our stay. We sooo never back to this hotel .
Worst service and accommodation! Throughout this whole stay the staff were not helpful and lacked communication throughout the team. We left early due to many issues. To start off upon arriving our room was not ready, even though we called the day prior to ensure early check in. I have received confirmation of early check in on Dec 24. They told us our room would be ready in 40-1hr. When we came back after over an hour they said it would be ready at 4 pm…another 1.5hr. When I confronted the staff about the early check they informed me it was a miscommunication. The staff also told me check in is normally 4 pm. Finally after getting into our room we were greeted with a cool and dark room. There was only heating upstairs, which was not turned on, the heating didn’t work for the first couple hours. I asked the front desk for assistance, there answer was they would send someone (no estimated time) well by our surprise the technician never came and I ended up solving the problem after waiting an hour in the cold with our jackets on. As you went up the stairs there was a large part of the wall that was not finished and made the room feel less luxurious. After fixing the heating that is only located upstairs leaving the downstairs freezing I asked for a space heater. They brought the space heater to our room and surprise….it was broken and dented. It produced a little heat but not nearly enough to make it bearable to sleep downstairs. Before booking our reservations we ensured there would be activities available during the holidays, given this hotel is secluded. Well there were no activities the only thing to do was the pool and sauna. We went to the restaurant the first day and the second day and the service was non existent. We had to go up to the reception every time we wanted something. We were not told the price of the buffet each day and on the second day I went to pay and it was double the price, given the food at the buffet was identical from the day prior.
Horrible hotel and service I would not recommend for anyone to stay here. The room had so many issues, unpainted walls, no heating, no lights downstairs, did not provide enough robes or amenities for guests, no sheets or pillows provided for pull out couch. The food was good however there were food pieces found in drinks, the service took forever and we could not get any water, and the overall organization in the restaurant was inconvenient. The staff was rude and not knowledgeable about anything to do with the hotel they work at. Truly a waste of time and money it’s better to go to any other hotel. We left early because it was that unenjoyable.
