This was fine, but a bit of a disappointment. From the photos, it appears that you are in the vicinity of the chateau. You are not. It was also implied that you would enjoy a privileged view or access to the river. There isn’t any access or view. When asked for an extra pillow, we were told there were none available even though the place was not full. The room was fine. The breakfast ok, but this wasn’t special. If you need a place to stay in the Bordeaux region, it’s fine, but definitely lower your expectations.

My husband, his parents and I spent 2 weeks traveling France, this was one of our favorite stays. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The area and vineyards beautifully! Breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed touring the vineyards. It was exactly what we wanted. However, if your looking for in room tvs and Wi-Fi (which was available on property but not in all rooms) this probably isn’t the place for you.

Excellent place if you want to visit many of the wine regions under your own steam. Rooms large and well equipped no tv in room, something i am pleased with.Communal lounge for watching tv reading etc its large and grand can us fridge and kettle if you wish to make drinks. Lovely views peaceful edge of village setting. Lovely swimming pool and garden. Can park on property.Highly recommend the private chef for dinner 25 euros per head rustic authentic french cooking. Apperative nibble and 4 courses and coffee.

Situated in the lovely quiet village of Fronsac, surrounded by vineyards. Very quiet and peaceful stay. The owners were very helpful and lovely. Great little swimming pool, tea and coffee facilities. The morning breakfast was full of lovely treats. The room was well decorated, clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Feel very relaxed after my little stay break here.

Stayed here while visiting Libourne and the Chateau has very spacious rooms well furnished , bathroom also very stylish. Fronsac is really very quite with not even a coffee house so there is nowhere to even have a coffee in village. Breakfast is quite good with nice selection. We opted for evening meal at 25 euro to a chef who comes to chateau but we're very disappointed with his efforts. Chateau has great potential but still a bit to go.

The perfect place for visiting all the area of St Emilion. The Chateau is really pacefull in the middle of vineyards. Service is very friendly, like a family. Breakfast is amazing. We went for a running in the morning around all the vineyards. Room very nice

We had high hopes for the pretty Chateau Richelieu property and received an initial friendly welcome after rushing to arrive by a strict 5:30pm check in time, but were then very disappointed by our stay there due to many factors:||1. It is not locally owned therefore it lacks intimacy, passion and a true 'vineyard experience'.|2. Sadly, you are not able to taste or try any wine (except some grapes on the extensive back facing vineyards) unless you buy a dusty and expensive bottle from your room.|3. It isn't really like a B&B more like a villa shared with other people as the staff are rarely available or accessible - except the vineyard groundskeeper who was friendly and nice but really had nothing to do with the hotel.|4. The pool area is nice but small and only 2 lounge chairs so we had to sit in the shade on seats as the other 2 were occupied by another couple most of our stay.|5. The Fronsac area is dead with no real amenities and one restaurant they recommended was closed for the Summer so we wasted 35 mins driving there and back and the other restaurant they recommended Guingette - we got very very sick from (locals tell us this is not the place to eat at in fact).|6. When we fell very very ill there wasn't anyone senior around to help us with medical help or fresh water and disgracefully our room, bed and toilet were not cleaned or linen changed the next day or during our entire stay and we were left without any toilet paper. The freelance cleaning staff we noticed playing in the small guest pool with her boyfriend and child instead of cleaning our room and the hotel?!|5. We didn't have breakfast either day but were still charged for it.|6. There was no one there the eve before or morning or our early departure so we left not knowing how to finalise our bill and had to chase this for 2 days afterwards.|7. Upon emailing the manager our concerns and complaints she was very rude back to us and said and I quote 'I thought your email was a joke and I do not have ti

Stayed in this peaceful location for a week. Stylish accommodation and a wonderful welcome from each very friendly and smiling member of staff . Fabulous breakfasts ,very clean and fresh rooms ,interesting architectural features abounding. Relaxing walks amidst extensive vineyards in the evenings ,to rejoice in the quiet ,rural atmosphere. A tonic for anyone wanting to 'get away from it all'. Lavinia
