A large aquarium also with birds of prey. I always find it difficult to score such places as it's sad seeing animals in captivity. All the animals were well presented and appeared healthy (I'm not a vet). The sea life and tanks were interesting and all the information cards were in French and English.
The aquarium was excellent - lots of fish we hadn't seen before and a very curious octopus. We thoroughly enjoyed the bird of prey show, which lasted for around an hour. The animals were incredible and to be able to see them up close was amazing. We had some drinks at the cafe and prices were reasonable. We didn't eat as one of the party has a food allergy, so unable to comment on the food. A fun way to spend a few hours!
My family and I enjoyed going here. A shame that we were unaware that the restaurant needed reservations.
Very enjoyable. Set in the cute "sea-side" village of Audierne, this was better than I had expected. First off, there are the birds on display (yes - I know that this is an "aqua show" but I'll get to that in a minute) where you can see (and learn about) the white-tailed Eagle, the bald Eagle, the snowy owl (amongst others). Then there is the aquarium which has some amazing displays of fish and other deep sea creatures. As well as being jaw dropping incredible to look at, its also very educational. There is also a "petting pool" where you (and children) get to touch, and handle, starfish, rays , and other oddities. Then there is the "show". This is actually a bird show where the birds are shown and perform their feats right over your head. And these are the large birds such as the aforementioned bald Eagle. This is quite amazing, and very enjoyable. (Be warned - while the speal is very educational and entertaining, it is only in French.) All in all, a great outing for a family. (TIP - in camping grounds, etc, you can find the Aquashow pamphlet that includes a voucher for free entry for a child.)
Great place and well worth the visit. It is not particularly a big place and you do get around it quickly but the birds they have are amazing. They all seem well looked after. The aquarium section is really interesting aswell with descriptions and explanations in both English and French. The staff were all very friendly and the bird show is brilliant. It is only in French ( which is to be expected) so we did not understand what was being said but you can clearly tell they really know their stuff and the birds get so close to you. Delighted we made the trip and would highly recommend.
There is an aviary and an aquarium on site. On Sundays the food & bar is closed but there’s an amazing blue van creperie close by 😉. The birds of prey are impressive and the kids particularly loved the jelly fish displays inside
Review from an irish, English speaking family with five children aged between 7 and 16. It's reasonably priced for an attraction when you include the bird show. Firstly there are plenty of ample free parking near the premises. We chose this aquarium as it was know for its bird show. Now although only a few, I must admit the birds they had were stunning and well kept. The overall aquarium experience is short, but my children highly enjoyed it. I must warn though, that the bird show is not spoken in any form of English, so its impossible to know what's being said without knowing the language, for us that was only slightly disappointing but when thaught about also to be expected. that being said I could tell by it, that alot of information is given and several questions answered. It's obvious a lot of work has gone into training the birds and the show. I'd highly recommend it to any French speaking tourists.
Excellent family day, great food and fun gift shop! Well worth annual membership!
