One of the most surprising spots I have ever been. A place of freedom, openness, respect, responsibility and transformation. A place that wouldn’t go away days after I left it - and many miles away, for that matter :-) At its heart I found unsophisticated beauty and sheer bliss. Very grateful for the beautiful landscapes and historically meaningful surroundings. The ultimate gift however, were quite a few significant encounters, great shared work and effort, as well as some unexpected (though constant) deep interchanges. If I had to give this place a name, I would call it "transformative experience". One that will take a long time to yield and unfold most of its intake. I’d recommend this place to anyone craving a meaningful pause, a bit of soul, and real connection. If you're looking for more than just a place, this is it! Thank you Allan & family! Thank you, passers-by!
Liked: Nothing. We arrived, turned around and left immediately. Disliked: The approach looked like a haven for fly tippers. We were shown to a sloping and overgrown pitch. The toilet, "Poupe" had a broken door and would not have provided much in the way of privacy.
I can't say I was incredibly impressed with this place the owner is friendly and is very sincere in his intentions. However a dry toilet doesn't have flies buzzing around it if it is properly constructed. A spoon or small trowel to sprinkle the sawdust and somewhere to wash your hands after using the toilet would be handy. The kitchen was dirty which also attracted flies. The compost bins were open another fly trap. The shower water just flows out of the shower we both still have the mosquito bites from the worst infestation in our 5 months of cycling. For me "alternative" is not synonymous with unkempt, messy and dirty. I'm sorry to write this but I really can't agree with other reviews that it was a fantastic stay.
An eco camp with delightful people....compost toilets aren't for everyone though. Totally admire Alain's efforts
I loved it, despite Google maps best attempt to get me lost on the way. Its on the LEFT going up the hill.... Small, quiet, and very friendly. You don't even need your own tent. Farm eggs and vegetables from a co-operative market garden surrounding the tents, semi outdoor kitchen, ecologically sound dry toilet, and an alternative way of seeing the world. Take your own eyepatch. I'll be back.
Friendly guy, good for Families with Kids. For a couple with dog ok, but not the best place
Excellent
Merci ! Allanement votre Allan
