I’m honestly angry about my experience at Generator Paris. I’ve stayed at Generator hostels before , in London and Dublin , and had really good experiences, which makes this stay even more disappointing. At Generator Paris, I was not allowed to eat a basic sandwich in the indoor common area , which is ridiculous for a hostel that markets itself as social and guest-friendly. This wasn’t a full meal, just a simple snack. When I asked where I was supposed to eat, I was told to sit at a table outside. Outside. In the middle of winter. And the explanation? That the outdoor area was the only common space available for eating. That’s not just inconvenient , it’s completely unreasonable. A hostel should provide a comfortable indoor space where guests can sit and eat something small. Instead, I was made to feel like I was doing something wrong just for having food. To make things worse, the breakfast was mediocre at best, and the food they sell on-site was honestly just bad. For a place that’s so strict about outside food, you’d expect decent alternatives , but that definitely wasn’t the case. On top of that, nothing felt properly clean anywhere , not the common areas, not the facilities. It gave the whole place a neglected, low-effort feeling. And the irony? The place felt empty, with barely any atmosphere at all which makes the strict rules about using space even more frustrating and unnecessary. Compared to the great experiences I had at Generator in London and Dublin, this stay in Paris was properly disappointing. It felt unwelcoming, inflexible, and poorly maintained. Definitely not the warm, social vibe the brand usually advertises. Would not stay here again.

Paid for chicken Cesar salad — this is what I got. This place used to serve good French food like steak and mashed potatoes. Now it deteriorated to serving hamburgers, pizzas and shitty airport-quality salads. We don’t travel to France to eat fast food, come on. Do better!!!

Omeeii the homie at the restaurant/bar is absolutely amazing! I love him so much! He was the first person in Paris I met and he made me feel so welcomed! Love him! Couldn’t ask for more!

This is a wonderful place! Clean, light-filled, quiet in the day and lively in the night. In particular, Saiful is the best. He works from morning to night to make the Generator cafe run smoothly and harmoniously. It is a kind of service you don’t often receive in Paris. Saiful is kind, detail-oriented, and incredibly hard-working, juggling numerous jobs simultaneously. I had to stay in Paris for a week to sell a property in the city - it was a very stressful time for me, but I am lucky I happened to find this wonderful location and discovered how much help and relaxation the kind staff here can provide. Thank you, Saiful!

My experience at Generator Paris was very good. The hostel is nice, clean, well located, and has a pleasant atmosphere. I would like to give a special compliment to the young man who works at the breakfast buffet, Saiful — he is always very friendly, polite, and helpful, which really makes a difference in the guest experience. The only small downside is that there is no lock on the storage box inside the room, which would be important for keeping personal belongings more secure. If that were improved, the experience would be perfect. Overall, I would definitely recommend Generator Paris and would happily stay there again.

We had such a great time at the café, especially with how well we were taken care of by Saiful. We were initially just looking at our options, but he really took the time to open up, offer suggestions, and cater to our needs and preferences. From the moment he started engaging with us, we felt truly welcomed and at home. His service made the whole experience even more special

This is by far the best hostel I’ve been to. Omeeii and Paloma weee the most amazing bartenders and simply just good company. The food is amazing, and definitely don’t pass up happy hour!

Omeeii and Matt are amazing!! They were so inviting and made the atmosphere very comfortable, especially since we spoke English. We were able to make so many friends and had such a fun night thanks to them! Would recommend:) #midnightsun 😉
