It's now a park and commu ity garden but it was cool to see the old Roman walls.
Tres bien. Nice walk with some roman debris in current walls.
While there is little to see for the general public of what is left of the original amphitheater, (sections of wall can be seen from behind the Cinemas Studio, it is nonetheless fascinating to walk the streets that are still today curved in a circle, because they mark the exterior boundaries of where the amphitheater once stood. Hidden behind the more popular tourist site of the Cathedral St. Gatien, the Tours Amphitheatre is a nice walk through a well to do neighborhood. Do some internet research before you go to understand what is there. Much of what remains is below ground and off limits to the public, accessible only from basements of the current residents. If you enjoy going to historical sites that are off the beaten path, and if you have a good imagination, I highly recommend a quick visit here.
Fascinant.
