Beautiful property, very poor guest experience The hotel is visually stunning, but the stay itself was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, there were no slippers despite it being winter and the room having tiled floors throughout, which made the space feel cold and uncomfortable. There was also no drinking water provided, and no clear information about the robes—only a sign stating they cost €80. The room is entirely controlled by buttons, yet there were no instructions, turning simple things into a frustrating guessing game. The bathroom towel rack was off, and the instructions to turn it on were hidden under the control panel. The AC is very loud, making it difficult to sleep unless you bring earplugs. I booked a terrace room specifically for the outdoor bath and a peaceful atmosphere, but the bright terrace light cannot be turned off, completely ruining the experience. Built-in Bluetooth speakers were unusable due to extremely low volume. The max volume was so low I couldn’t make out the words of the songs I tried to play. Coffee and tea were not refilled, and the fireplace stopped working on the first day. Customer service was slow and avoidant, and none of the issues were resolved. Check-in is at 5pm with no luggage storage on site; instead, guests are sent to an office a 15-minute walk away - far from convenient when carrying luggage. On checkout day, I was locked out after being only 15 minutes late, with no response to my email. While the room itself is beautiful and cozy, the service and organization significantly detract from the overall experience. It feels like a wonderful property in the wrong hands. I wouldn’t even give zero stars for the service provided. If I could speak directly to the owner of this beautiful property, I would strongly recommend changing the management. No matter how stunning a place may be, nothing can compensate for this many issues and the feeling of being completely neglected. At this price point the lack of service is un
The bathroom light was strobing - this was not fixed during my 3 night stay, so I got a headache every time I used the bathroom. I ended up bathing in the dark. The bedroom window did not latch for the first night, and there was scaffolding outside so it would have been easy for someone to enter the room. It took two members of staff to fix. The shower door had been ripped off so I did not feel comfortable showering (just noted that this was reported to them in May 2025) The TV was on a different WiFi to the one given to guests, so I could not connect to cast. The speakers refused to connect for music. The "fire" vapour was a couple of inches at max. There were scratches across the wall in the bar area, making the room look like it hasn't been refurbished in a very long time (just noted this was also reported to them for this suite in January 2024) I messaged customer services every day of my 3 night stay (including my birthday) but they didn't respond after the first day, and only fixed the fire to come on and the window to finally close
I don’t like to do this but the hotel hasn’t responded to my complaint. I made the complaint on day 1 of a 3 day stay.|The room was advertised as separate living room and bedroom - a lie|The bathroom advertised a ‘spa bath’ another lie. It was a bath with a shower.|The main shower has no door - floods the bathroom floor every time you use it|You need an acces code for the hotel - they changed it without telling us. You have to get someone to answer a phone to get a new code.|The 2nd lift was broken. We had to climb for flights of steep stairs with heavy baggage.|The only way to reach staff is by phone there is no one in the hotel.
It was my second time at this hotel, I was there almost three years ago (November 2022) and it confirms itself as a great place to stay. The location is perfect in the old city of Lyon close to all attractions and the room I stayed was very comfortable. The price is reasonable for such quality.
Oh my goodness. Maybe one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I've ever had. It's truly not a hotel, it's more like a room or suite experience right in the old town of Lyon. And you are on one of the most beautiful corners, with access to everything you would want. The restaurants are fabulous. You're close to the church. It's like a real world Epcot experience. I absolutely loved our stay and I hope to return.
Impecable room. We stayed in Cobalt room and I highly recommend. Great value, spacious, clean, with design. Location is quite nice close to many Bouchons and pedestrian streets.
Location is perfect. We walked everywhere. The building is old and dusty so there are spiders everywhere. Other than that, they are ok. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed. I gave 3 stars because elevator was not working and we had to carry our baggages through a series of stairs. Check-in time is too late but the office is near so we dropped them there. The staff is also very kind and responseful. They answer everything quickly.
Do not stay here!!! Check in is at 1700, you can leave your luggage at their office which is 15min walk away, but can't access the "hotel" until after 1700. There are NO staff on site at the hotel. You need 4 codes to get into the hotel, 1 for the front door, 1 for the lift, 1 for the second lift (which did not work) and 1 for your room. We couldn't get into our room, as the code did not work, and after an hour and 8 phone calls to the "emergency" phone number, we eventually got hold of someone. The fact that not a single staff member is on site is a Health and Safety concern and that the emergency phone number just rang out is honestly unacceptable. The manager of the restaurant next door told me that customers being locked out of their rooms is a daily occurrence. I will be seeking a full refund.
