I went there not for the first time for the SOE Libre Resistance Ceremony. Always a moving experience. I certainly recommend that people should visit the site.

Adjacent to the Mount valerie Park. Nice and big landscape for you to hang out with friends and family. A lot of people come here to rest and do a little sports training as well. The other side connects you the American cemetery which is also close by and a must visit.

Mémorial du Mont-Valérien is one of the most important memorial sites in France dedicated to the memory of those who fought against Nazi occupation during World War II. Located in Suresnes, near Paris, France, on the slopes of Mont Valérien, it preserves the memory of the thousands of resistance fighters and hostages executed there by German forces between 1941 and 1944. The site became a major place of remembrance after the war, honoring people from different backgrounds who sacrificed their lives for freedom and liberation. The memorial is notable for: 🕯️ Commemorating more than 1,000 resistance fighters and hostages executed at the site ⚔️ Preserving the history of the French Resistance during World War II 🏛️ Featuring a monumental memorial designed by architect Félix Brunau and inaugurated in 1960 by Charles de Gaulle 🇫🇷 Representing courage, sacrifice, and the struggle for freedom 📜 Including the execution chapel, museum, and historical exhibitions The memorial complex includes the Libération de la France memorial, a large bronze monument with symbolic figures representing different aspects of resistance and sacrifice. Visitors can also see the clearing where prisoners were executed and learn about the personal stories behind the names remembered here.
