Fantastic visit here today. Really well organised and all the exhibits are not locked away so you can really get involved in the tour. The highlight is the torture exhibit. Truly horrifying 😱😱😱

Most unusual visit of an historical unique château. Free to wander around the house from the ground floor to upper levels built along the natural cliff. The house has fireplaces, all burning wood that makes you feel being one of the guests in the house. Lots of artifacts, about prehistoric period, furniture, dishes, costumes,... This visit is quite interesting for the whole family.

An interesting house/mansion built into the side of a cliff. It's well documented and non french speakers are leant a guidebook to help them around (English, German, Dutch and Spanish I believe) As it's built into a cliff there's quite a bit of climbing of stairs. Overall a very unique place

This is an amazing time capsule of history with stunning views. There is so much to see and take in it's fascinating. The young lady in the ticket office was a delight as well , so polite and welcoming. Just on a personal note I wouldn't take wee ones to the room displaying the mediaeval torture methods but for adults it is a very interesting and sobering display. Very enjoyable day thank you.

We had a fantastic day out! We could have spent even longer here! All the rooms in the Manor are carefully laid out with antiques. There were even real fires going. It’s really atmospheric. There are several layers cut high into the rock, with higgledy stairs in between. Incredible view from the top. There is an excellent trail for children and teens which you download as an app. Just as excellent in English. The kids 10-14 loved this. A ghost, a cat, an alchemist. The mansion was inhabited from 1386-1931. We did not bother with the torture exhibition.

Definitely deserves a visit. Very interesting. It's worth seeing the harsh conditions the people lived in there. The arsenal of torture devices is impressive and terrifying, your hair stands on end in horror when you think about what the victims were subjected to.

Wonderful oddity that sees the medieval meet the neolithic, the interiors are fun for a family though anachronistic antiques and the entirely 'repro' torture exhibit will mildly miff serious history buffs. Worth a visit!
