Bar Restaurant Du Château On our journey south along the Route du Soleil, we decided to make a delightful detour to the charming town of Viviers and stumbled upon Bar Restaurant Du Château after visiting cafe Au Café Français which was closed. The picturesque setting under the shade of large trees immediately caught our eye, and we decided to stop for some refreshments. While the ambiance was inviting, we were disappointed to find that the kitchen was closed, contrary to our expectations from a place labeled as a restaurant. Nevertheless, the welcoming staff made up for this inconvenience. We had already settled on the terrace and ordered drinks when the waiter graciously informed us that we could bring in food from outside and enjoy it there. This thoughtful gesture was much appreciated as it allowed us to enjoy our baguette purchased from a nearby shop. However, our experience was somewhat marred by an unexpected issue. The lovely planters that adorned the terrace attracted a swarm of small white bugs. These pests were quite bothersome, landing on our legs and clothes, prompting us to change seats. Despite this minor inconvenience, we managed to finish our drinks in relative comfort. Overall, Bar Restaurant Du Château offers a pleasant spot to relax with a drink, and the staff's friendliness adds to its charm. However, it would be wise to check in advance about the kitchen's operating hours and perhaps avoid the terrace during peak bug activity.

Don’t get over excited it’s just a cafe, coffee was good, didn’t eat, they have Wi-Fi and a parrot, good place for a stop if you are cycling

Be careful, Tourist trap! Service very bad. They are not hygienic! Tables were not cleaned. The food is just frozen and they serve only with french fries and do not offer another option. You can go to McDonald's and save your money and nerves. The wine was terrible although here is a wine region. You will stay hungry afterwards. We asked if it is already the mushroom season and she said yes ( it is 3rd of July). The portions are very small to make you order all the courses. The waitress ignores the clients and she does everything to make you wait as long as possible. I do not recommend it at all.

Amazing and good French food, wonderful and friendly service, good Covid protocol inside, very reasonably priced. Loved it! You can eat a three course French meal and not break the bank. We had a green salad, exquisitely-cooked salmon, and I had a nice crème brûlée for dessert. Also, the place is located in a cute little square, not far from the water. If I lived in Viviers, I would eat here habitually.

We had our break in this Restaurant Bar du Château in a little town after driving for some time. We had some drinks and ate Croque Monsieur for tea break. The surrounding of Bar Restaurant du Château has a simple, pleasant environment but with not much view.

Lovely place full of happy people having a casual lunch. I ordered an omelette which came with a lovely salad bread and frites (not that I like frites) but everything else was lovely and sufficient

Côte de veau avec frites et salade.un vrai délice !la viande était délicieuse et cuite selon notre demande et délicieusement parfumée aux herbes !le dessert (tarte aux pommes) était succulente!nous y reviendrons ! le menu est vraiment abordable ! nous sommes belges (et voyageons en camping car )et nous n'avons pas la chance de goûter à des plats aussi bons! n'hésitez pas à vous y arrêter !
