A great place for those who want to try real Japanese matcha tea in different variations, excellent matcha ice cream. For lunch, you can order sets of Japanese bento boxes, which are expensive, but authentic Japanese. The only negative is that I would not recommend mixing rice with ginger before serving, because everyone may have a different reaction to ginger. The service is wonderful. The place is very popular and the staff is constantly on the move. The interior of the Toraya is restrained, it combines Japanese aesthetics with Parisian elegance. The Paris branch belongs to the famous Japanese house of Toraya, founded in Kyoto in the 16th century and became the official supplier of sweets to the Imperial court of Japan. The opening of the store in France in 1980 was the brand's first venture outside Japan and was seen as a cultural mission to introduce Europe to the art of wagashi, traditional Japanese sweets made from anko bean paste, rice flour and agar-agar.

Had a pleasant experience at this Japanese restaurant. The food quality was good, with fresh ingredients and well-prepared dishes. The ambiance was comfortable, and the service was attentive. I would recommend it to those looking for a solid Japanese dining option.

Toraya is a lovely spot for a peaceful coffee catch-up with a touch of Japanese elegance. We enjoyed matcha teas alongside a selection of their delicate bean pastries and fresh mochi. The highlight for us was the monakas—we only wish we had tried them earlier so we could have ordered more! When we arrived, the atmosphere was incredibly quiet, with individuals studying or reading alone, making the soft bird soundtrack almost the only sound in the room. It created a serene and calming ambiance, though later, as more people arrived, the space became livelier with conversation. The service was exceptionally polite and kind, and the minimalist Japanese decor added to the tranquil experience. A wonderful place for tea, sweets, and a moment of quiet in the city.

The upsides? Great service, interesting array of eats and drinks, very clean and minimalist-chic. The not-so upsides? The moon pie I had was only ok and at about €5 ($7?), that’s a lot for a cookie. If you’re looking for Japanese-style treats, there are plenty of places with better selections and prices.

Absolutely amazing food and service. Super authentic and everything was made to perfection. If you're ever in Paris, be sure to stop by for lunch or tea! One of the best meals we had whilst we were visiting Paris, was simple and healthy...a welcome change from all the super rich French food we had eaten!

Tucked in a quiet street but so close to all the tourist attractions! Much needed ice cold dessert on a sunny day. First time trying quality kakigori (Japanese shaved ice) with matcha syrup and red beans! There are sooo much red beans inside which is a good surprise. Not overly sweet! It was perfect to share! You can also get other Japanese snacks for takeaway!

I had a matcha ice cream and a dorayaki to go because I didn’t have time to sit down. The matcha ice cream is good and so is the dorayaki. I’ll go back again and try other things another day.

We went there for Saturday breakfast. The food was great, very delicious, but the sweets, although they looked amazing were a little bit tasteless. The tea was also very soft, just perfect. We took The Menu Salade Avocat - Matcha Soba and Menu Sekihan. When I will come back next time I will probably not try the sweets.
